Re: Global fellow Radiologists, the information provided with regard to not being able to sign off reports is not correct. We have 6 GHF Radiologists and they sign off their General Radiology reports. For sub-specialist work which they would be doing TPA (MSK/GU/GI etc) they will be mentored and reports checked as part of their training. Once they are competent and confident to sign off their own reports in sub-speciality, they will be allowed to (usually after 50% of their GHF period). They will also get support for CESR and will be looked after. Re-Pay scale, they get paid around on-par with a 1st year consultant pay-scale, which is what any one joining as Locum Consultant would get. Hope this helps.

Thanks Sameer for the clarification. My comments on signing off reports came out wrong as it was meant for CT/MRI. Of course the radiographs and USG reports can be verified (local trainees generally do sign off their own scans from year 3 onwards). I am happy to know that the Global fellows can sign off all examinations in later years of training.

Thank you both, just to clarify further GHF Rads also sign off general cross sectional ct mr including Oncalls. It’s only the specific sub-speciality stuff that they are getting trained are the ones that get checked.
