I've had 4 foot surgeries including bunion surgery and you will definitely want to plan on 3 to 4 weeks of immobilization. I would recommend buying one of the walker/wheelchairs at your drugstore and plan on sitting in that to get around. Get into a good tv series because there's not much you can do while you're recovering.

I m contemplating getting this surgery but it sounds soooo painful, the recovery, like a total pain in the butt. My bunions don’t really hurt, but I’m thinking what if they get worse down the road, in the future, but what if they don’t and just stay the same, hmm 🤔 . What to do, what to do... Plus, they bother me more for the esthetic reason, they’re ugly, than due to pain. He said to wait until It really hurts since it’s not a cosmetic procedure. Any thoughts anyone?? 🤔

I had bunion removal surgery last January and I guess the doctor used a pin that stays in. About 6 months ago I started getting random sharp shooting pains that weren’t constant and now I wake up with excruciating pain and where I can’t move my big toe at all. It has gotten to the point where I can’t work (bc I work at a plant and I walk on concrete all day) and I can barely stand to make my family dinner. I used to be very active in walking/running and sports and I can’t do any of that anymore. I just had an MRI done to see if I fractured the sesamoid bones....I have been going back n forth with the doctor for about 8 months now, at what point should I go and get a second opinion and should I get the pin taken out?

I have a question please. I am getting this done to me this week or next. And when they out me under in 2008 to remove a ovary cyst I had woken up. I couldn't move couldn't talk, and for some reason I couldn't open my eyes no matter how hard I tried to open them. I still remember what the Dr and his helpers where talking about "needing to cut me open" . I remember I didn't feel scared, but rather annoyed bc I was woken up. I remember going back to sleep, and a lady kept telling me to wake up. Again was frustrated that I was woken up. She said she was trying to wake me for a wile, and she had to up my oxygen to help me wake up bc I kept going back to sleep. So my question is are you sure I won't remember anything when I have my bunion surgery? I have a feeling I will remember at least clips of it like I did w my 2008 surgery. Thanks :)

Stiffness is normal after bunion surgery. This improves as the swelling goes down. Most people can do there own therapy at home but in some cases I do send people to therapy when they cannot do it themselves
