Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Great idea with the Washi tape. Gives it more strength and can be used as you showed. Thanks!

Thanks for your comments! I have SOOO much washi tape that never leaves my storage. I often wonder how it multiplied! 🤔

Thank you for your kind comment! Those borders are very handy. Now I need to find a way to use a bunch of them up all at once to use them!

hi penny! what great ideas for the scrap white paper. i have so so many strips, usually 1/4", and i hate to throw them away. i usually just use them for sentiments or punch art, but now i am going to use them for my washi tape. i have been able to use up/get rid of a lot of the tape but still have some left. they are the ones that don't coordinate with each other. but using them on the strips of white paper and then using them on a card is brilliant. i have to say, sometimes it is the simplest idea that is the best and i always wonder 'why didn't i think of that?' !!! thanks for taking the time to make the video! happy crafting!

Aw Sheryl, you’re welcome! I’ve been taking a break from card making for while but I miss it! It’s a fantastic way to use up scraps and complete a small project in just a little time. My problem is that I have so many cards already! Glad to hear that you liked the washi idea. I agree, sometimes simple is great. It requires a a lot less brain power so you can focus on what you’re creating. Happy crafting!

@@pennyauld hi penny a few ideas with your stash of cards... -see if an elementary school in your area would be interested in having kids send cards to the local seniors homes. you could donate the cards, the kids could put in a little story about their day, etc and then either you or the school could arrange to have them delivered to the seniors. if this is something you/the school would want to do, you could contact the seniors facility and get a list of names so the cards could be more personalized. it would benefit everyone! and the impact on the kids (doing something special for others) and the seniors (knowing there are people out there who haven't forgotten about them) would be tremendous! -there are usually groups that send cards out to the military folks overseas. you could donate some of your cards to them. -this is a fun one that i have done before... write little happy thoughts or words of encouragement in cards and leave them on random car windshields in parking lots where every you go. if you are out walking you could slip some in peoples mailboxes. when i started doing this i was so nervous and unsure. so i told a friend about it and she really encouraged me to at least try it once or twice and see how it goes. i really liked the idea of not encountering the people. just an anonymous little card for them.. -pre covid my two crafty friends and i approached a senior center gift shop and asked if they would be willing to sell our cards in their shop. one store bought them outright and then sold them like regular inventory and the other shop sold them and gave us our asking price. keep in mind, we were doing this to unload our stash and not to make a bunch of money. we figure seniors, fixed incomes, the storage space for all our cards, so we just made sure to cover our costs. i'm in british columbia, canada so i don't know how prices change around the globe but we sold our cards to the gift shops for $2.50 each. this is just enough to cover the costs. the going rate for handmade cards sold in craft fairs and gift shops average between $6 - $12. -and perhaps the best one, send 'happy' mail to everyone in your address book! even to folks that i haven't seen in years and don't keep in regular contact with. i figured, i have their address, why not? lol i have also done this a bunch of times. i think it is so nice to receive something other then bills, and i have had quite a bit of positive feedback on it. all these ideas don't really reduce the amount of cards that i have because i seem to make them at a high rate of speed! lol i was just thinking that maybe if you didn't have such a large stash of cards, you would think 'wow. i sure don't have many cards anymore. i better make some more'. and thus, you have now been inspired to get back to crafting! crafting can be that stress relief, that place to zone out all the troubles and busy schedules and just do something you love for an hour or two.... well, it is for me anyway! happy crafting to you! (and good luck with any of these ideas if you decided to try one!)

@@sheryl5252 wow! Thank you for all of your great ideas. I'm a teacher and we do the happy mail to seniors and military already but it doesn't seem to be making a dent in my stash! I love the idea of random acts of kindness. Maybe I'll do more of that! Thank you so mu h for taking the time with your suggestions!

Love these ideas. I have loads of white paper strips after my last digital paper project since my printer has built-in borders. I don't have many punches, except 1" and 2" circle punches, but I love the border idea. I do own a border punch and can create those longer lace strips for use on feminine cards. Thanks!

@ Ann Heatherton, I'm so glad the ideas are useful! I have the same problem with wide white margins when I print and cut things with my Cricut! There's a lot of wasted paper!
