What to do with those Gray Arches from the Hasbro Tantive IV Corridor Set (Followup to unboxing vid)

Ойын-сауық

Those Gray arches may not display very well as intended, but this tutorial will give you a couple new uses for them. Basically, we’ll help you make them freestanding arches so you can set up displays without having to make them stuck to the back of your Tantive IV corridor. This is really a “Semi-Skill” custom as it does require you to drill some holes and spray paint. Don’t worry, you got this!

That's a neat diorama setup you put together of Leia giving the plans to R2-D2! :)

For dowels you can also use styrene. They can be attached with plastic weld (no holes needed).

I love that idea. Admittedly the whole drilling thing is a little risky. I am definitely going to look into this for the future. Maybe if I make the droid torture room from “Jedi.” There are lots of pipes in there.

Hey cool work but here is some unsolicited advice, warm the parts with a hair dry before trying to crack the glued parts. Tends to help free them without the stress.

Yes, I bet a heat gun would’ve worked perfectly! Thank you! I’m always interested in tips, so don’t hesitate to share!

@@noskillcustoms heat gun will work but you need more care as it can warp parts quickly. Hot water works great as well and can loosen some glues. You are really only limited by the tools you have. Some files would be good to use around drilled holes to smooth them out and fitting parts together as well. This set looks pretty cool and Id like to get one or two and repaint/remodel for aliens vs predator universe style.

Are you a big star wars fan or just interested in the action figures?

I’d say I’m a pretty big fan! Check out my other videos (like my “every character” series) and you’ll see that I am obsessed with finding all the things in the background of the movies. Plus, I like knowing everything about what went into making the movies too. I love reading books about ILM and Ben Burrt, and the Creature shops. My favorite books are “Star Wars: Chronicles,” “Star Wars: Costumes,” “The Sounds of Star Wars” and JW Rinzler’s “The Making of Star Wars,” Series. This channel is primarily about the action figures, but I’m open to expanding it to other other aspects of Star Wars if there’re things you feel I should cover.

That was a "semi skilled custom"...😜 Nice job. Check out fb and Instagram account (also ebay) of "cardboard galaxy". I've bought many items in the last year. He makes several backgrounds, and additions that enhance existing sets. Looking forward to The Mandalorian video, and some more shots of your and Poky's dioramas...

Semi-Skilled Custom...I’m gonna use that in my description! You’re right about cardboard galaxy...I’ve been seeing their stuff on eBay for some time, their Tantive IV add ons are pretty cool. The main background and floor would be pretty useful for this Diorama. We’ll hopefully have the Mandalorian follow-up episode next week,

You don't want to attach it to the back of the white corridor? Those wall pieces plug right onto it.

Attaching the gray pieces to the back of the hallway doesn’t display very well. Plus then it requires 2 sets just to make both sides of the gray hallway, and then you end up with one side of the white hallway, a complete gray hallway, and then another half of a white hallway. This way the halls can be displayed independently.

@@noskillcustoms I bought 4 sets, so I have two full white hallways, with the gray hallway in between. (I will be painting the backs of the white walls, that face the center, gray.) Then I want to find a floor for it, and then some greeblies, like hoses and pipes and those tanks, for along the walls.

That works. I was thinking if you ended up with 2 white halls, then you could do one up as if the battle was going full swing, and the second could be the aftermath, and have all the rebels with their hands on their heads and Leia being yelled at by Vader.

@@noskillcustoms That's a good idea. And it would give me place to put that white and green R4 droid.
