Hi, I am Betsy, from Habana. I agree with you 💯. A month ago, 6 runners were born from my first and ONLY strawverry plant and I decided to plant them to have more plants. I am proud of them now. They are healthy and beautiful. Thanks for all the information you give.

Thank you for the good info. I followed your last strawberry video and got very good results. I'm growing them in the Caribbean and will be taking it to the next level of mass propagation. Thanks again for the education ❤

Really appreciate the advice in this video. I overhauled a horribly overgrown and under-producing strawberry bed last fall and replanted 44 healthy parent plants back in the space, giving each plant at least 6" of room all around. The transplants took well before cold weather set in(zone 6). I was thinking I would remove all runners(stolons) from the plants as soon as I see them growing this year so all energy would go into producing blossoms and berries. Your advice reinforces my plan of action. :) I suppose I could let each of the 44 plants produce one daughter plant apiece if I want to create a whole new bed without sacrificing berry production.

I grow my perpetual strawberries 40cm apart through a black permeable fabric. Runners I propagate in small seed trays placed on the fabric. My plot is in the middle of three railway lines so I need the fabric to prevent the many weed seeds that fly in. Never thought of propagating in water thanks.

I need your help. I watched your video and I love it. I have strawberry plants in buckets and they’re doing great. My runners are hanging over the edge so they can’t be in contact with soil. Is there another way to cut them off so they get rooted? I’ve tried to put them in dirt and they’ve always wilted and died. Now I’m trying regular house water and it is not working. What can I do?

Just found your channel, great explanation,I have lots of runners in my green sticks where my strawberries are growing but they don’t have any nodules on them should I just cut them all and let them root in water or do I have to see the little nodules first

You can root them in water once the nodules start producing small roots.

1:36 - My life in a nutshell. Me trying to do something constructive and my toddlers running up to mummy in sheer delight to join in only for my partner to realise they escaped and are about to ruin mummy's video... and of course the dog is not far behind the toddler.

Haha! I love to leave those clips in there for comedic effect and also to show the humanity behind the account. We are parents and that means our son will sometimes photobomb our videos lol.

I have a question. this is my first year growing albion strawberries from bear root. yes they're producing a whole lot of runners right now and I'm clipping off some of them but keeping a few of them so they can propagate. so my question is...the leaves on the existing strawberry plants are getting really huge. can I prune those without ruining the plant?

Yes, you can prune a few leaves without harming the plant.

Hello it’s me Scott Kern I just had my daughter ask you a question because my phone wasn’t letting me put a message on here. But seriously I need your help I’ve got some 15 gallon buckets. I just cut the top off and drill holes on the bottom and on the side on the bottom for drainage. It’s probably foot and a half round. My my strawberries are doing great and I’m getting the runners. I wait till till I see little roots popping out then I cut the runner off by the plant in a cut one side off and leave 2 inches of the other side and I soak it in water with just the bottom in it. I first started using soil like you did, but I didn’t have the whole runner connected to the mama plant and they all died. I just don’t know what I’m doing wrong I’m using regular house water I live out in the country it goes through softener salt that’s it can you help me personally I have an email if you want that or I am on Facebook to if you want that.
