Jason, I don't know if you get the plastic type feed bags sometimes too (we do in Ohio) and they are great to save for future earthbag buildings or small structures for the homestead. We have seen rice bags and feed bags make some great sustainable and lowcost earth buildings in the Philippines where my wife grew up.

We don't usually get the plastic feed bags but this is interesting! That's amazing!

Great use of bags... I used boxes from stores that don't compact their boxes. Wet down the cardboard if you need to conform to the rows. And ad lots & lots of wood chips. Everything you put between rows will be broken down composted Gold for your soil building in 4-6 months. Earth worms & bacteria break it all down. 4-6" worked the best for me. Larger Plants will send fine roots under wood chips for moisture & nutrients.

We get nothing in paper bags here in Indiana all our feed bags are plastic. I use them for weather proofing sheds or chicken coop, dog house. Works great and they make great snow sleds.

We have started raising rabbits in addition to our chickens. I will be using feed bags to put rabbit pellets in to sell!! (After I use what I want for my garden, of course). You can use newspaper (4-6 sheets thick) the same way you are using the feed bags -- just keep Penelope close with a garden hose sprayer to moisten the paper so it won't blow away while you are getting the woodchips

Good Idea! Here in TX I will use a whole bag and not split it; Bermuda grass would laugh at a split bag! lol

You all work so hard! You are such an inspiration! Lowes and Home Depot also have those really large paper bags for leaves that would work. Do you know where Veterans HF got the rolls of paper they used? Will you try to process your chickens yourself this year? Thank you for another great video. Blessings...
