After many trips to Curacao (❤), we decided to give Bonaire a try this Xmas vacation with the kids. Really looking forward to it now with your very helpful video. Because we rented a 4x4 Jeep, we are anticipating a fun tour of the national park as well. Thanks for such a well produced video!

Great video to help out the mrs. who doesn't dive. Any recommendations for tour guides for the two of us who do dive? Also, locations that aren't deeper than 50 feet or so? We're there all day on a cruise stop and would really like to do two dives, could be boat or shore. Thanks!

Hi Anthony, thanks for watching! The good thing about Bonaire is that every site is good above 50 ft. In fact I find that 30 to 50 feet is often the sweet spot (especially in the South). You can certainly go deeper on all dives, and there’s good reason to on many, but you’ll be quite pleased with 5 to 50 ft at most every site. Bonaire has shallows that lead to a sloping wall. That’s why it’s so great for shore diving. There’s something at every depth. Enjoy your trip!

1000 steps, its called that way because you have a whole track of 1000 steps, not only those stairs☺️

Thanks for watching Pepsi! First, I don’t recommend renting a golf cart. They’re not suited for touring Bonaire (in my option). Caribe is a car rental agency that is relatively close to the cruise port and they offer one day rentals (not all do) caribebonaire.com/our-fleet/. Liz and I use a local agency named Telerin. They have older/well worn vehicles but I’m not sure if they offer one day rentals. You can contact them via email at marcolva@hotmail.com or telerinbonaire@gmail.com. Enjoy your time on Bonaire!

This is fantastic!! We have reserved a golf cart only because I’ve not found one day rental near cruise port. Can this tour be done in a golf cart? FYI I’m still looking for a car!!

I personally wouldn’t try it in a golf cart, and in general I’m not a fan of using golf carts on Bonaire. I love them for other islands, but not Bonaire. I believe Caribe offers one day rentals caribebonaire.com/our-fleet/ . Thanks for watching! Have a great trip!

@@juliehunt2385 fitting in a 2nd snorkel stop may be tight if you’re on a schedule and trying to make it through the entire list and all the way to Sorobon. I’d personally take the extra time to relax and watch the wind surfers once reaching Sorobon. If however you’d prefer to snorkel again (can’t blame you if you do), try the site Margate Bay. It’s probably a quarter to half mile past White Slave. One caveat. If upon arrival at Margate Bay you see a lot of kite boarding kites in the air, even if well South of you, I’d take a pass on snorkeling the site. Even though they’re supposed to stay South of Margate Bay, the kite boarders still venture up that way. It’s easy for a kite boarder to not see someone snorkeling on the surface. Are you using full foot fins (i.e. without dive boots)? If so you’ll need a water shoe with a nice durable sole for entering and exiting the water. Barefooting the entries and exits on Bonaire is a painful proposition. I hope this helps!

Hi Marykay, thanks for watching! I’m not a huge fan of using golf carts on Bonaire. They’re great for other islands like the Abacos in the Bahamas or Ambergris in Belize, but not so much on Bonaire. Others definitely disagree. I personally wouldn’t attempt the entire route in a golf cart when on a tight schedule. Enjoy your stop in Bonaire!
