Very useful information. I have the same haircut as you, except my hair is slightly longer and I usually have to tie the back, but it takes a lot of effort since my hair is straight. I got a perm hoping I can simply grab my hair and do a manbun easily, and so far I notice it’s easier to handle. :)

The usual waiting time to thoroughly wash your permed hair is about 48 hours on average (unless told otherwise by your stylist) but after the 48 hours you should be good to wash it with shampoo and conditioner but also make sure to get shampoo and conditioner that is sulfate free and i also only use shampoo 2-3 times a week but thats me you can use it however you want

so im deciding in getting a perm soon. I want a modern perm like how other people have their curls all the way till their back like not a mullet but I think you get the point as well as having the curls long on the sides so that you can get a low taper. How long should my hair be for me to get these results??? Also, for the bonnet do we have to use it everyday when we go to bed or just the first 48 hours?

Yes, I have wavy hair now and still use Marc Anthony isntantly thick and it works very well, you may not need to use the coconut cream tho

Yes I can, i can make that soon, if you want tight curls I’d say about your eyebrows and let them grow out. Even if you get it done short if it’s tight curls they will grow into spirals

Every time, the problem with towels is they absorb too much water so it drys out your hair a lot faster. It’s not the worst if you use a towel but a tee shirt is definitely better. And anytime, feel free to ask anymore questionsss

Sorry for the late response, i didnt see you in the reply. So thats one way, but kinda looks messy like a clown. If you pick it out with a pick once its dried with product it will get bigger. The bigger it gets depends on how much of your curl you pick out. Remember the pigger it gets is the less curl you get so i find the sweet spot half way.

Shampoo no more then 4 times a week, if you shower always use conditioner. So if you shower everyday use conditioner everyday, if you don’t use conditioner when you shower your hair is very dry, especially if you shampoo and don’t use conditioner. You usually want to put your cream after your shower, if you don’t shower that day I’d recommend looking at one my videos named “how to style a lazy perm” where i show you a spray you can use for when you don’t shower. Don’t put the cream at night because your hair will always be messed up after you sleep. Do it after your shower in the mornings

It’s okay as long as you wait 24 hours to be in the pool or sea. If you don’t put product in after it may look frizzier then you’d like but it will all reset with water. Use a tee shirt is my best advice for drying your hair. I shampoo about 3 times a week, i condition everyday or everyday I shower. That will help keep it moisturized. Don’t shampoo more then 4 times a week and you’ll be good. Don’t use a hair dryer unless you need it dry very fast. I’d recommend just air dry after scrunching with a tee shirt

I’ve waited that long before to be safe, 48 hours is what most professionals will tell you, it’s very rare for product not to be sunk in by 48 hours but still possible, it’s fully up to you but 48 hours no shampoo or conditioner is safe option

Bro, just got a perm but I showered after 24 hours and I'm wondering if that was a good decision because my hair stylist I should wait 1 day, also I don't really have any shampoos or conditioners, will I be fine with just curling cream?

Your going to want to pick up a conditioner and shampoo to clean and take care of your hair, after 24 hours isn’t the worst, it takes UP TO 48 hours to settle. It can end up settling earlier so it depends if it settled or not, 48 hours is to be extra safe. 2 days i usual Aly wait but as long as it’s over 24 hours it should be good

I’d say pick it out and use less cream, it won’t do exactly what you want but it’ll make it frizzier which will give it a looser look to it

Bro I wet my hair is it ruin? It was when I was done getting my Perm, I didn’t put no shampoo or conditioner i just put water on my hair only

Hey sorry for really late response! Just saw this, you want to apply it when your hair is damp or wet, you can do it dry but it’ll appear more crusty that way

on wash day when i shampoo and condition should i put product on damp or dry hair or does it really matter

You want it on damp hair, it doesn’t matter too much but it’ll be easier to put the creams in while it’s damp

No, I recommend 2 creams, you pick one of the two. Not both

Unfortunately no, you shouldnt do anything to it, but dont worry it will be worth it.

I know this was posted a while ago, but I just got a perm yesterday and when my hair stylist took out the pins (purple) she rinsed my hair out. Is this bad? I mean even on the way home (it was humid and rainy) one side of my hair started to straighten out and now it's gotten to my back. I will definitely update you in the comments the day after tomorrow but I've also put hair spray and gel in my hair to get it to stay. I'm worried

hey, so sorry for not catching this. No you shouldn't worry about her rinsing after that is completely fine because the second product they put in needs to be washed out. Let me know how you are doing now and if i can give you any advice. Did you hair fall out?

@@NickRants no no my hair didn't fall out the curls fell out. I think I'm going to go back for a second run but the salon hasn't answered my calls since I got my hair done. I'll definitely update you if I get it red one. Thank you for your concern

It’s all good, when you sleep your hair gets caught between your head and pillow which can make it look flat, once you shower it will fix

I got a perm and washed my hair after 3 days and I still have curls but it has all dropped and is not puffy anymore, how can I maage my hair go up? (More puffy)

If you feel like your hair starts to grow and doesn’t feel curly anymore, then that is the time where you get another perm i guess
