Depends on where you go - there are some local ride hailing apps your accommodation can recommend, taxi numbers, bike rentals, and walking are options depending on the time of day and location. Knowing the local language helps a lot but English is fairly common.

A small remark. at that time Pakistan was India, some of my ancestors came from Lahore.
