I have a tip also…don’t just guzzle cups of water. When you are sweating a lot you need to replenish electrolytes so bring drops for water. The plain water dilutes your electrolytes so you can still feel bad despite constant water drinking. (I’m a nutritionist) If you don’t have the drops or don’t like them eat bananas or oranges and a decent meal.

@@justuniversalthings13we used liquid iv and it was a game changer. Didn’t need to drink constantly and at end of night we didn’t feel depleted. Just the normal feeling of being on your feet all day.

Collapsible cup, sunglasses, hat, and a moisture wicking towel you can tie around your neck and stash ice in when it's warm. If you have to go to a locker before rides without a stroller, you've brought too much stuff.

Is it necessary to print out a ticket to use the lockers? Was my plan to rely on digital passes on my phone.

Buying clear lanyards in a big pack from Amazon is also a good idea! You can hold your park pass that way instead of relying on your phone. Can’t take your phone on the ride unless it’s in a zippered pocket. (Like hiking type pants or shorts. ) so getting back to your locker when your phone is inside is a problem.

Take flip flops if you have room in your bags for the parks. Saved my feet from wet socks and shoes from the water rides in IOA

Simply let the team member know while you are checking out and paying at the merchandise store!

Don’t forget your collapsible silicon cups and anti-nausea medicine and pepto chewables! A lot of the rides are CGI and motion simulator. You can get sick easily. Also; you can use nearly any cup at the Coke free style machines for free ice and water. A collapsible cup is easier for when you need to stow your items in a ride locker. The ride lockers are slim so a Fanny pack, crossbody or small loungefly, a wand and rolled up robe will fit, but that’s it! You will need to empty your coke freestyle souvenir cups and water bottles to be stored on their sides in the locker. OR; you can have one person in your group who doesn’t want to ride “babysit” all the stuff at the ride exit spot.

I thought you couldn't bring outside food and drinks into universal?? Has that changed?

Yes. It has to go into a locker for the “locker rides” that’s going to be all the coasters and spinning rides. MIB included. The lockers are slim, so Fanny packs and crossbones fit. And smaller loungefly backpacks. Water bottles have to be stored on their sides. So freestyle cups have to be emptied first. You can bring a collapsible cup. They work in any of the free style machines for free ice and water.

Not every single ride has lockers required. But quite a lot do. You can actually walk around and drink most of your beverage from one ride to the next. Those insulated cups they sell are actually only about 16-20oz or so. They’re not as big on the inside as they look. 😅 so you can really drink most of it just walking around. It’s when you’ve just filled up and then decide to go on something close by that’s the issue. Gotta drink fast. 😂 I’ve got four kids and usually our family of six just gets two or three of those cups. Then every two of us share. Makes it easier. After a couple of cokes we just refill on water the rest of the day, or sprite if one of us feels queasy from a ride.

It’s my understanding that the free lockers will not hold a backpack unless maybe it’s empty

Not a full size Jansport stuffed prolly not... But a mini backpack will fit! Like tall enough to put a water bottle inside: The standard lockers are more narrow (measuring 5.5 in high, 14 in wide and 16.9 in deep) and can easily fit small purses, wands, wallets and cell phones. But they aren’t tall enough to fit popcorn buckets or cups if standing up straight

I personally use a Jansport fanny pack. Sure, they're not at all cool, but it's 7L of capacity and I didn't have any issue getting it to fit in the Universal Hollywood lockers, I assume these are probably of similar size.

Question going end of May to June would wearing the robe be too hot?

It's definitely going to be tough to wear it all day however you can still manage it early in the morning and you can always rent a locker for it or bring a backpack!

I always travel with trash bags.

Don't forget a fanny pack!

Can’t wear your Hogwarts robe and ride on Hagrids motorbike ride on the “bike side”. If you’re wearing the robe- you’ve got to ride on the “side car” side.
