We have a video we are working on that touch bases on the different tires, don't forget it's not just about tread. Rotational mass and mass come into play as well. Silverback are a 40lb tire. The easiest way to blow the trans on a moto is by running a tire with a large rotational mass. We have helped several people remove engines due to running heavy tires. Highlifter outlaw 2s weight 60 frickin pounds. Not a good tire for the motos. Mass definitely plays a part in clutching from our experience. We run a 22lb 30 in tire. Also don't forget each brand sizes differently. Depending on the company we have 28s that have the same outer diameter as 30s. Tires are definitely a subject you can go really in depth into. We run the lightest tires possible on our motos. Helps save trans, fuel economy ect. Good video, I'd be interested in the weight of the tires you have. Also, you can change the dimensions of the tire by rim size. 15s on 10 in rims ect.

I run the frontline’s on my 950 and they are actually a very smooth riding tire for as aggressive as they are. There a great all around tire.

I run 28” Carnivores on my 950 Trail and love them as an all around tire! They were the biggest tire I could run on that unit. I’d love to go to 30” since I’ve got the power along with the MSC stage 3 clutch kit but they’d rub. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’m pretty sure a set of spacers will resolve that issue for you.

@@mjmisadventures950 exactly the opposite! I went with 2” spacers and now the 28’s rub at full turn 😬

@@mjmisadventures950 yeah I thought with the spacers I’d be able to run 30’s. I don’t want to put a lift on it because I want to keep the center of gravity low since it’s fairly narrow. With spacers and the new tires and wheels she’s just over 58” wide which is a big improvement over the stock 50”!

Hm. I have a Villain in the Central Utah area. Paved a few miles until dirt roads with a few rock ledges and rocky lumpy spots, but I dont 'rock crawl'. I was thinking of getting the Rockzillas but I'm starting to wonder about that now. I like to do 45mph and under on the straights. No way I want to be breaking axles out there. Nor do I want flats. Nor do I want to go so heavy that my unsprung weight is an issue. Or so large that it screws up my powerband (No clutch kits for the Segway for for all I know). Whatcha think?

I think 45 would be ok. As for a clutch kit, it's coming. I know that MSC is about to release the stage 1. The zillas will be a great tire for Utah and places like that. As for asphalt, I wouldn't make it a habit since the compound is very soft.

Me personally I’d look into the maxxis razor or the nitro trail grapplers

I have been looking at the System 3 XCR 350 X-country (30in.). They show it used on rocky trails and also rock crawling. You labelled it in the trail category. I have my original big horns(28in.) on my 2024 Yamaha wolverine x2 1000. I was looking to buy the xcr 350 for the tighter tread for rocky trails and some rock crawling. I'm going to use the big horns for the soft and slightly muddy trail riding. Are my thoughts incorrect?

Their a great tire and if you ride mostly dry rock they do great. When the rocks get a little wet they tend to slip a bit more. I have really enjoyed my crawlers from pro armor. But it’s a great option.
