The issue of cows in Nigeria is very complex. The Fulanis want to use cows to penetrate every community for their conquest agenda. That is their main objective. It is not that they don't know that it's more economically beneficial with ranching cows. But they will never agree to ranching.

Well spoken by Dr Apoki. The East used to rear a special breed of cows different from those that are brought from the North. Unfortunately animal husbandry was abandoned both in the southern part of Nigeria. Those special breeds of cows were brought from both Brazil and Argentina by Chief Awolowo and Dr Mike Okpara when they were premiers.

Yes, please remind Dr. Apoki that his idea has already been tried under what was even considered a more conducive Nigeria, and it failed, bringing us where we are today? Yet he wishes to revive "Awolowo" and "Okpara" in the "Southern Governors?" Who are we kidding!

I believe in the soundness of Dr Apoki’s messages. Building ranches for cattle is the civilized way to go. The rent money from oil made the present generation of leaders to abandon agriculture and animal husbandry which are money spinners. Agriculture and animal husbandry were revenue sources that sustained Nigeria during the first republic and are practices worth replicating. Well done and recognition to Dr Apoki for his insightful and stimulating messages.

They were allowed to run with this narrative during Buhari’s time without being challenged. Nobody talked about the fact that they move with AK 47, nobody talked about the fact it is not their moving around the way they want, it is about destroying crops, it is about living in forests and not having homes. This stupid narrative stuck and now they are being challenged and they come up with Fulani being marginalized.

Very beautiful analysis. The contention among the senate and indeed with the rest of southern Nigeria is with open grazing with some Nothern senators insisting open grazing and a normadic lifestyle is the birthright of the Fulanis even in the 21st centuries. A call for ranching is being advocated- this is common sense and world over, that is the practise. Here again lies the problem in Nigeria. In the illustration you gave, if a church were to use its camp for the purpose of ranching, there couldn't possibly be any uproar about it. The land was bought by the church from the host community and it will be their prerogative to decide what to do with it. However, rather than treat the business of livestock as a private business, buy land and foilage to rear cattle, the Fulanis want government to give them land in the south for this purpose! Whose land will it be? Again one is forced to ask, is the business of cattle rearing a private business or a government one? Do the Fulanis pay tax on the livestock they rear? Some have even called for a modification of the land use act to give the power of ownership of land to the federal government. For clarification, you will not get any cattle for N300k in today's Nigeria-that will only afford you rams or goats. I was shocked when a cattle were priced at N1-2.5m in a recent salah video! The profitability of livestock farming is never in doubt. The contention is about how it is being conducted in Nigeria.

During the military era, our husbandry systems were disrupted and eventually stopped. We used to have a location where livestock was raised in the Western zone. The livestock species was imported from Brazil. Eating red meat from livestock moving around is healthier than eating that of livestock raised the Western way. It's not possible to raise grasses and continuously feed cows with the same grass. Once the dung of cows are on grasses, they don't eat same grass. This is why the Fulanis move their cattle around. We need to look at communities where the herders have been living in peace with the their hosts, who're farmers, and see how to work out a better plan for livestock business

yes sir, we may get it right if the right persons are in place. politics and religion are socially interwoven but the practioners are egocentric personalities with fixadated thoughts. big ideas run little in their consciousness. the countries you cited doesn't thrive on bland egomaniac indulgences, instead, they bask in high floating objectivity and innovative thoroughness, basically on things that would elevate their countries and its people. in Nigeria's case, absurdities of crudeness reigns supreme and consequentially impoverish her citizens at all levels. the pulpit mega men and women knows one thing, that is, drive the people crazy with opium biblical quotes and collect their money thereafter as palliatives for imprisoning their collective idiocy. the white elephant projects our rulers do at various levels is just a form of attractive enslavement, not empowerment. unfortunately, the giant, Nigeria, is only breathing suffocatingly from the anus all these years. it's bad.

Problem with your analysis sir is that you are pushing a religious agenda into the facts you are making. Cattle rearing is not a religious issue. It is a business matter. Not one for the church to delve in. You can address this as a regional problem. Other region of yhe country should endevour to be involved. Business in the church is already a big problem.

Why appeal to "churches" that are operated by other laypersons, and wait for your "southern governors" to "come together" before we begin to experiment with your beautiful biblical theory?
