General Tinio is a 1st class municipality in the province of Nueva Ecija, Philippines. It has a population of 55,925 people according to the 2020 census.
It was known as Papaya until 1957, when it was renamed in honor of General Manuel Tinio, a revolutionary leader during the Philippine-Spanish War.
The municipality is located at the foot of the Sierra Madre Mountains, adjoining the Fort Magsaysay Army Reservation on the northeastern side.
It is 120 kilometers north of Manila and 32 kilometers southeast of Cabanatuan City.
The municipality is bounded by the municipalities of Sta. Rosa, Laur, and Gabaldon in the north; Gapan City and San Miguel, Bulacan in the south; Aurora Province in the east; and the municipality of Penaranda in the west.
The main economic activities in General Tinio are agriculture, livestock, and poultry farming.
The municipality is also home to a number of factories, including a cement plant, a fertilizer plant, and a textile mill.
