I've broken quite a few promises in my life ... and I can tell you that it hurts like hell when you finally have to face the fact that you are not regarded as "trustworthy". To be trusted is right up there with being loved ... it's a sign of _authenticity_ - "realness", and if you lose the trust of someone you say you love ... that's a very big mistake.

The shattering comes (5:05ish) when we put our trust or our invisible souls upon something unstable - not trustworthy. Then when it proves itself as untrustworthy - it is manifested in as Dr.Peterson describes as a 'shattering' of the 'stable' foundation that we have built upon. The problem is what we build upon. If we build upon solid things (and our level of accuracy of judgement - rooted in our own integrity - is the judge from which we reference this) then our house will remain...and i'd like to add to what Dr.Peterson says in that it isn't that other people can shatter our realities - in a SENSE - BUT... when they betray us - rather that our trust is severely hurt which is an incredibly painful thing, humiliating thing, brings one in touch with the visceral facts of the human struggle, but our own faith if we haven't subjugated that to the other person is what will keep us standing and our own head high during the low times - the valleys. Trust is a deep issue and it needs to be approached with all caution and wisdom and discernment and ALSO a healthy fear....but it will only be hurt but not broken if we have indeed build our trust upon the immaterial things which in turn are eternal/truly trustworthy as all the righteous people of every nation have ever done. But if we let fear rule us then the 'shattering' will break us - and to the degree we let it - will cause us to withdraw that little bit the next time. Once bitten - twice shy they say. Once we let this snake into our souls - it will consume as much as the one whom it has been allowed into to consume - even the whole house clean. It's desire for you - but you must master it (Genesis 4:7) that applies for all temptations which attempt to assault the soul. This is a universal principle. Those victorious will look at life from much different eyes to those consumed by it.

This is the very reason as to why I hate meeting new people. The fact that there is always a certain level of trust involved always puts me on edge. Those involved who abuse or break said trust are only met with scorn and malice by my behavior and actions, where it is at the point that I only wish pain and misfortune upon my newfound enemies. That being said, I try to avoid new people in public all together if possible. Putting trust into strangers are a bad idea to me.

I disagree. The most precious resource available to us is the time we have. Nothing else matters if that time doesn't exist. Everything you achieve is predicated upon the time needed to do so. Every moment you spend doing anything you love, everything you witness within that time-span, and everything you do, say, or feel is dependent upon time. Each moment of your life, once spent, can never be reacquired. No matter what else you achieve, how much wealth you amass, or how many mountains you scale-time can never be regained. Trust pales in comparison as a commodity! Hence the term "Spend your time wisely!"

Cool, but in my humble opinion; How can we trust our illusions and projections? that is all they are. Our idea of the faithful partner is only that, an idea. That does not mean I won't trust, but if someone betrays, it's no big deal. The same goes for everyone in our life, they are human and can make mistakes or change their mind. We see our wife as if they are our property and they should be as faithful as our car, when they do not belong to us, and can change their mind at any moment or not!

Maybe I did not explain myself well enough, maybe because english is not my main language. Maybe I should include that on a spiritual level II believe no harm can come to us with the terrible things that you say I say. I believe that our spiritual nature can't be harmed this that for you is very terrible, and people make mistakes, and we can forgive.

This is much more than just disagreeing with your opinion it's a matter of morality.. doing the right thing.. being kind to others.. sure some people especially men love to play the game of competition but when lying etc is causing harm to others then where do you draw the line on harming people. It's not fun constantly being on the losing end of deliberate silly competitive games that I don't like playing. I prefer the straightforward interaction and you prefer a game and there is nothing wrong with that as long as morality human rights are respected. I have been ripped of many many times and it feels bad :( I didn't mean to judge you in a negative way.. I understand how you are thinking
