funny you say that because find the same about Scoot henderson, who don`t get me wrong looks pretty darn good, but way too much pressure. Plus near end of season, fellow 19 year old teammate Leonard Miller was looking better at times, and he`s picked mostly from 18 to 25 range.

My point of view is exactly the same as yours. On February 10, I saw him play live. Boulogne defeated Dijon 93-86 with Victor scoring 29/9/4 in 30ish minutes. Everyone left the arena thinking he was a cheat code after that. He literally dominated the game, and if he's allowed to play like that in the NBA, the league is in big trouble. Most annoying is how effortlessly he played. His body execution and pace for a guy of his size are just not natural. It's like watching Steph, Kyrie, KD, and Giannis all together. I wish him a long and injury-free career.

NBA today had a lot of fast paced movements both offensively and defensively that lead to injuries. The amount of injuries today tells us all. Old era only focus on post moves and slower pace that was favorable to the bigs thus they are less prone but still can't last that long. Wemby will be a once in a lifetime player toughness like James for him to last that long but it is highly unlikely. I give him 5years the most.

I don't know about the health. Steph Curry had been hurt a lot during his career. BUT there is a big misunderstanding about the Villeurbanne situation. Yes he could have played Euroleague with Villeurbanne this year, but Villeurbanne is obviously a bad team not well coached for Euroleague (they were last this year). Lucas played for the best team in Europe, with great players and great coach. And this year, he took a dead last team, struggling finacially, Levallois-Boulogne, and this team is second in the french league (behind Monaco), and Wemby didn't miss a match, and his team has a lot of hurt players, and their second best player, Tremont Waters, left 2 weeks ago. So basically, he is the best player in France in the second best team (with Monaco, first, is not even a French team, but eh). I think what they did is to put Wemby in a situation when he could carry the team by himself, be a leader, and have a winning situation to prepare him for the worst teams in NBA. And Wemby delivers, obviously. And yes, Vincent Collet.

7' 4" Rik Smits played a full NBA career (12 seasons), made an All-Star team, and was healthy through several full regular seasons and five deep playoff runs. Yes, some might not call him a "star", but he was pretty close. He managed between 19 and 22 points per 36 minutes through his prime years (career best 18.5 points per game), on about 57% true shooting every year. His best blocks season he managed 2.1 per game, while playing all 82 games, plus the playoffs. In the '93 playoffs he averaged 22.5 points on 57% shooting per game in 36 minutes per game. At age 33 he missed only 4 games regular season + playoffs, a total of 100 games as the starting center for that NBA Finals Pacers team.

Wembamyama is tryna build his career like Mbappe’s however, he might not have the opportunity to become as good as Mbappe because of his height. Look at his path of turning down offers, Mbappe and Haaland have become global stars that basically have all the power in the world in football because of how they are doing things. However, turning down 100m offers is actually insane. He better hope that he doesn’t get injured and puts up good to game-like numbers in the first half of the season after being drafted.

The best place for Wembanyama to land would be in San Antonio, where Coach Pop has the depth and openness to accept him for what he is and nurture his gift within a team concept.
Exactly, it's very rare for someone this height and this thin the odds are against him.
This is why he needs to be drafted by the Spurs. They will not hesitate to put him in the G league if they think he's not ready. Other teams like Detroit, Charlotte or Houston will definitely put him out on the starting lineup in October no matter what.

I’ve been saying stuff like this for MONTHS. Since he started to get hyped. The fact is he simply does not have the body/frame that generally can sustain the performance needed to succeed. It’s just simple biomechanics/physics guys. Guys like Wemby simply don’t come around often and even when they do they’re fighting basic physics… the human body isn’t meant to be that big/tall and be able to sustain the type of speed/force needed for high contact sports. Americans talking about the Euroleague and European basketball as a whole is always very cringeworthy. You mix up everything, you don't even understand European basketball, I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't even watch at least one Mets 92 full-game to prepare your take about him. You don't even bother to fact-check your "information". - You absolutely want to compare Wemby and Luka when they don't even play in the same league. The Spanish league and the French league are obviously not the same, they don't have the same culture or the same playing styles. And of course you forget to mention that Luka's 3pt percentage in Europe was very close to 30% too, that he hardly scored more than 15 points per game and that he was not even a starter most of the time because he was unable to defend. Anyway, the rules arent even the same, there is really no point in comparing basic stats. Like every European players say: scoring is easier in the NBA. - The Mets 92, Wemby's team are second (out of 18) in the league this year and they have a great chance to win the title. Wemby came for the 23 season but they were third in 2022, sixth in 2021, fourth in 2020. They were not the worst team in the league and pretty far from it. It is even historically one of the best teams in the League and it is coached by Vincent Collet, the French national team coach, a pretty good team on the world/olympic stage. - He is already playing against grown mens who are decent basketball players. The actual level of competition and talent, while obviously largely inferior to the NBA, is way higher than in the NCAA. This is the exact same league where Parker and Diaw came to play during the lockout season and they didnt dominated the league that much. Charles Barkley argument is a shit take like most things he say related to international basketball. He is playing less games and against a better competition than he would in the NCAA, it might be the best thing for a young center with injury fears; he is getting significant experience without exhausting is body like all those young players coming already broken physically to the NBA. - His parents were pro athletes, so yea he's not poor but he didnt grew up in a 1.2M€ house. In the 5min search I've done, the cheapest home I've found in le Chesnay is around 800K, not cheap for sure, but flats are way more common in this region and the cheapest one is around 200K. You have no idea how Paris region real-estate market works and at this point I'm not going to be the one explaining this to you but yea obvioulsy it's not cheap. I dont know that much about what you're saying in the rest of the video, but I can't trust you anymore lol You talk about "them", the lying media, but the fact is that you are absolutely part of it.

Yo. In an earlier version of this video I said that Mets 92 wasn’t good before Wemby got there. I have since edited out the parts where I say that. I had gotten that information from Brian Windhorst on ESPN who said, “Last year, with the team losing funding and in danger of being demoted to a lower division, the coach resigned…until he heard that Wembanyama might want to play for him. Resignation canceled.” Does anyone know what this is about or was Windhorst just wrong???

French Basketball fan here. The Mets have qualified for the playoffs (ie finished in the top 8 out of 18 teams) for the past 3 seasons. Last season, before Wemby arrived, they had the 3rd-best record in the league (out of 18) although they lost in the first round of the playoffs. They currently hold the 2nd best record with 1 game to go in the regular season and they have a better record than Tony Parker's ASVEL. They're certainly not an elite team, but I'd say they're G-League material. They had to restructure many things in the mid 2010s but since 2019 they've been among the top teams of the French league. Admittedly not comparable to Doncic's former team Real Madrid though.

So weird that ESPN got that wrong. I apologize for not doing more research.

@@AMHoops I mean tbh, if this statement was said at the start of the season, then maybe what they meant was that the Mets did look like a significantly worse team than ASVEL. The Mets aren't competing in the Euroleague and had finished 3rd behind ASVEL (1st) last regular season. But this season ASVEL ended dead last in the Euroleague and in the French league the Mets are currently ahead of ASVEL thanks to Wemby. So I guess at the time it would've been fair to say that the Mets were not as good as ASVEL, but now it would be contentious to say so -- we'll see what happens if they meet in the playoffs! But either way, it was certainly not fair to say that they were one of the worst teams in the French league.

@@ArturoSubutex yes but they specifically used the word “relegation” which you and I know means they’re one of the worst teams in the league. Seems crazy to make that mistake.

@@AMHoops Well they did get relegated... but that was back in 2007-2008 and they bounced right back to first tier the next season, so they've been in the top tier since 2009... So Brian Windhorst was off by about 15 years lol. Maybe he vaguely heard someone saying 'they were even in the second tier at some point' and then he jumped to this conclusion. But NBA commentators making huge mistakes when talking about the Euroleague or European competitions in general is very common, we're used to it :) At this point it's more like we feel happy when they say something right
That foot thing creeped me TF out
Man this dude should be a Spur. Coach Pop will have so much fun with this guy!
Wemby should play 4 or even a 3. He will thrive in that role. He is versatile, can handle the ball, shoot and create for his teammates. This league is dominated by versatile wings.

I'm hoping my pistons get him and roll him out there with Wiseman and duren. And yes play him at the 3. Imagine that front court, they could go ultra big and put bagley out there at the 3 n webby at the 2. Cade the smallest player at 6 8ish.

@@joshlewis575 that team while huge and athletic would be the worst perimeter shooting team in the league. None of those guys are particular great shooters and Wiseman and Duren offers no shooting outside of the post. Wemby despite being athletic ain't checking no decent 2 guards in the NBA. Interesting lineup but it wouldn't be one which the Pistons could roll out for very long and be competitive.

He is stronger than chetw he is already playing with pros in a tougher league, y'all acting like he is gonna be the first person who get bodied by like Giannis or embiid, nobody stops them as usual
Whatever team that draft him will give him a chance to be (the man)
Knowing hummingbirds fly backwards isn’t too crazy. You ever see hummingbirds? They’re like drones if they were lightning fast.
Comparing efficiency between wemby and Giannis from 3 is super disingenuous considering the type of looks they get and the coverage they face.
Last time I checked, Wemby's team (Boulogne) was second place in French championship. The worst French team ? Really ?

One other hesitation is Wemby is going to play about 40 games total this year, with few or none back-to-backs. It’s a different theme when a player must play three times a week against big, mature men. I feel he will be better on offense than defense. Also he has a very tight frame which doesn’t look like he will put on much weight. Not a great draft.
here's the thing, wembanyama should not, i repeat, should not be played at center in the nba. his main positions should be pf/sf because of his body type and skill set. when teams go small ball, that's when he can be plugged in at center
@fatalgaming6244

Funny enough, he’s on record saying he wants to play PF because of the offensive freedom he’ll have compared to playing down low

Everyone only seen his highlights do they this je just this perfect player
Victor's current team was literally the third seed in the prior year so I don't know what you mean with worst team in the league. And at 2:52 you say that winning doesn't matter as if Victor's team isn't the second seed in the league and as if victor isn't about to win mvp
