Do you love minimalist shoes?! I have been wearing nothing but xero shoes for the last 3-4 years and absolutely love them! The excursions in particular.. If you want to try a pair give this link a click and find a pair that suits you! xeroshoes.com/go/fellowship
This new KETL Mountain Apparel that I got is also amazing! Its the nofry sun hoodie and it works like a charm! I've worn it in 98 degree weather with 45% humidity and it wicks everything away and kept me cool! (it also kept me white as a ghost after a month of hiking in georgia sun!) Use the link below to check them out for yourself!
Lastly, my luxury item! This is geared more towards my bearded brothers out there! I never leave home or hit the trail without my beard oil and brush from LiveBearded! I've been using these products for a few years now and they are so worth it! My beard is the proof... These products are key to a healthy gorgeous beard that all the ladies love! And the multitude of scents they have are all incredible! But seriously.. The oil is a game changer while on trail as it keeps that dreaded beard itch away!

I have an LT Wright GNS scandi in 3V. I love it but wouldn't carry it in addition to my other gear, especially during these dry seasons out West. Right now I use a Daniel Fairly Backpacker, weighs 1.9oz with sheath, it's pretty good for it's size though probably very minimal for any bushcraft stuff. Be save safe out there, wishing you the very best.

I’ll have to look into that knife! Because I don’t use mine for processing stuff as much now as I do for makeshift tent stakes, tarp stakes, and odds and end things around camp like food prepping. Thanks for your input! What do you usually use out west? I haven’t done much out west hiking other than Montana. But it hasn’t been dry and hot in Montana when I go.

DD makes great stuff for the price. I have a superlight and a standard 4x4 tarp from them. The 4x4 is a freaking palace with a hammock or on the ground. I'm headed on a 3-4 day kyack trip this weekend and that's definitely going with. Can't wait to see the videos from the Mackaye trail. That's one that always seemed interesting to me. Good luck man.

@FellowshipoftheTrailOfficial It started a little rough. We set off on Sat in a down pour on a flooded river. I swamped my kyack in a set of rapids about 3 hours into the day and had to drag it and my fat ass to shore. Luckily I didn't loose much and my camping gear stayed dry. I spent another cold and wet 2 hours to camp. Now the good, the sun came out just before dark and the rain was gone. I still had a nice warm hammock/quilt to crawl into and forget about it. Day 2 and 3 were awesome. Sunny and high 70's both days. I even got most of my gear dried by the 2nd night. Caught a couple dozen fish along the way too.

@@BlackcatOutdoors that’s super cool! Stories that last forever! I feel like that’s the experience for the MST though. Getting stuck in a lot of rain and then hoping to be able to dry out and get sun.

I never understood all the bias against a good fixed blade belt knife. They dont weigh that much and the weight is on your belt not in the pack !

Completely agree! Most people I meet think that the knife on their little Swiss Army knife is enough. For some, maybe.. but they can’t be used for nearly as many applications as a good well made bushcraft blade!

Even if I'm just doing a quick lightweight overnight, I still bring my mora. It weighs less than a lot of folders and comes in handy a lot.
