Actually i hope that people will get so mad they will go back to real life shopping with someone actually knowing shit about the products he sells and ready to give you some advice. The whole itnernet shopping just shows how stupid and wrong capitalism is. Every single good idea and concept gets destroyed by capitalism. I personally only order online specific product that i already know very much about. If i want something and dont have knowledge about the product or industry i go to some local store and let advice me. I check the average price on the internet and if its not like +50 % in local store i will buy it right there as a thanks for the adivce.

Actually they practice “mingling”. They “mingle” articles with the same SKU, whether they come from the official provider or from “resellers”. So if you buy a DELL screen, well, it could be a knock-off as long as the knockoff prints DELL on it and the same reference number. It’s probably illegal but no country wants to do a trial to Amazon.

I noticed this a few years ago and adjusted my purchasing behavior. Since you mentioned the cycling category, I was looking for a really high-end pair of cycling shorts a couple of years ago where quality was way more important than price, and I knew not to even bother looking on Amazon.

Amazon used to be a reliable place to find cheaper deals on things you could find in stores, but two things happened: 1) stores started checking Amazon to adjust their prices and 2) sellers started figuring out which stores did or didn't matter in terms of price competition so they could raise prices. It took me a year to notice that I was paying pretty much the same price as I'd get it as a Best Buy or Target or Home Depot. For obscure/niche products you often get waaaay better prices at specialty stores, but those stores are rare and infrequent and city folk rarely realize they exist.

It's an often on sale budget chair for $150 that isn't perfect but hasn't given me any problems even when my fatass is 20lb over the max rated capacity, and I've had it for like two years. Here is the review, paraphrased from my memory. "My grandson was jumping and being rough with this chair. He's a big boy, but I wouldn't have expected the leg to break like that! I can't believe how cheap this is." 1/5 stars

Getting access to the full suite of Amazon's seller tools requires registering a company with a unique name, so they just mash random letters together until they get a unique combination and use that. I got a hunting vest off Amazon that specifically said it was blood proof and would save your expensive hunting clothes from getting stained underneath it. It wasn't. At all. And my expensive hunting clothes got stained. Made a very detailed review about how it definitely was not liquid proof at all with pictures of my stained clothes. Amazon deleted it because there were blood stains in the picture. For a review on a blood proof hunting product. So it still sits at 5 stars "i bought this for my husband and he loves it."

I reported them to Amazon and told people to watch out for that. Year and a half later nothing was done and the company is still doing the same thing more than likely. So yeah, my advice is to just get that coupon or giveaway they’re giving you. Amazon clearly doesn’t give two shits and people don’t care as long as what they get work.

Amazon will sometimes send a question to your email if you’ve recently bought a specific product to get answers to the FAQs. I think some people genuinely think that they’re being specifically asked as an individual and responding to the individual that asked, not having an answer posted in a FAQ section. Unfortunately, if you answer the questions, you get sent more, hence seeing the same sort of nonsense repeatedly. Bless them.

Being an introvert does not mean you can't have a conversation in order to buy a product. It just means you are a more reflective person focused on your internal self. Even the most introverted person is still capable of social interaction and most likely enjoys it in moderation. If you can't even hold a simple transactional conversation without freaking out, then you have severe, crippling social anxiety and need help ASAP. Whereas being an introvert is just a personality type and not a disorder.

Sure, there's a problem. The thing they all have in common is that it's Amazon. People respond to incentives, and Amazon's incentives for reviews give us... this.

Spot on with the infinite brand names that are unrecognizable. I get to thinking these could only be pseudo companies that all operate out of the same factory/warehouse in a far-off land.

They are often entrepreneurs who buy from a factory in china that will custom brand the product and ship it to Amazon. They might be American or Canadian. They have to come up with a unique name for their business which is tough these days.

A single company can own infinite brands. You don't need an individual company for each brand. They could all be from the same company, fielding several brand names at once to see which names perform the best.

They are all Chinese imports that don't want to let the customer know that they are cheap Chinese imports, so they list as bizarre company names. I work for Amazon, and the vast majority of the shite they sell is made in China. They resist mentioning that on the listings wherever they can.

Don't forget the company names that sound like they are from a specific non-Chinese country but it's all a ruse and they are also a Chinese company. They are ALWAYS a Chinese company.
