Jeff George comes to mind, super gifted but didn't want to work on being better like other great quarterbacks did.

i'll never forget, i was in summer school in college. i went to the gym to shoot some hoops, just play around. in the gym there was father yelling at his two daughters, who had to be 10 and 12 respectively, crossover dribbling the length the floor and back over and over.

Gretzky might have been the greatest teen phenom to be the greatest ever. Wayne Rooney, Limale, Messi, Pele: all 16 year old international soccer stars. Willie Mays was a pro at 16. Armand DuPlantis was a 17 year old Olympic pole vaulter and is now a 6 time world record holder at 24.

Crazy thing is Cooper flag reclassified and graduated HS a year early. He should be going into Sr year instead of enrolling at Duke.

Dara Torres wasn't a phenom. She had incredible longevity. Female olympian at 41 is insane.
