You do realize that the difference between B2 and C1 is mostly vocabulary, right? I am C2, and I am Danish. I am above native level in terms of language proficiency. The C2 word list is around 1000 pages. With funny words like dazed. For my language proficiency test, I was asked; whom in your friend group would consider a good leader, and what makes them that? My friend "art history"(translated Chinese name) she was the youth league party secretary for our university in Beijing, she had entrenched herself into party politics from a young age, since she got her red ribbon (given to patriotic excellent students), you know the opposite of feckless and flippant. She did really show her prowess in everything that she did, and that is how we were alike. And so on, and so on.

C1 is native and C2 is when you study it professionally like at university. So if you're B1, you're just calling yourself stupid - not true even though you're clearly probably not 13. 💀

The criteria for C1 under CEFR are Can understand a wide range of demanding, longer clauses and recognise implicit meaning. Can express ideas fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions. Can use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. Can produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organisational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices So none of them really spoke enough to judge their CEFR level tbh

As the top commenter said, "speaking slangs and a proficiency level English are two way different things." You can be proficient in informal language, but weak in grammatical, formal language. Though, to be fair, both informal and formal language can be considered fluent, so long as the speaker communicates casually. Those surely do show a certain experience speaking the language, but they're still different aspects of fluency. If you ask me which might be generally more impressive *and* useful for a non-native speaker, I'd say a broad vocabulary applied in perfect accordance with grammar.

No. It is better if you say it on İELTS. Please people dont assume that Ielts requires advanced words. In order to get high band, you should speak like English Native speakers. And They usually speak by using idioms and street words. It is even better if you say "I am gonna. I wanna" because that's how Natives speak. İelts wants you to speak like Natives. @@similar6250 just listen to any ielts speaking at KZread and you will see that candidates use idioms and talk with natural language. The reason why İelts examiners hate very advanced words is because they know that you are not going to use these words in everyday life after this exam. For example, in England and USA people often say "gonna" "wanna" and idioms because these words are used on daily basis. Nobody uses words such as "vehemence" "condescension" "exasperation". For example, if you get furious and tell someone about your feelings will you say "I am angry" or "I am exasperated"? Of course first choice is correct because it is used among many people. This is why it is better to use simple language
