What's funny is that when I lived in Japan, anime is a part of almost everything there. Advertisements, road safety signs, political campaign commercials, public service announcements etc. If you've never been to Japan, don't be surprised when you're shopping and come across Spy X Family anime inspired meals at a restaurant or Hello Kitty condoms. Japan definitely is a unique culture but that's what makes it fun.

@@kerolokerokerolo Japan is a mono-cultural society. 98% of the population is ethnically Japanese. They are allowed to be proud of their culture, that's not racist. Most Japanese love foreigners, including other Asians, but being that they live in a mono-cultural society, sometimes they say things that come off as prejudiced, or bias towards people who are not ethnically Japanese. Yes, there is allot of history between Japan and other Asian Countries, like China and Korea to name a couple examples, and some of that past legacy still remains unresolved today. As far as sexism goes, it depends on how you define it. Yes, in Japanese culture, there are still separate gender roles for the most part. But, that is also changing rapidly, and arguably the end results of Feminism have not benefited the Western cultures that have gone all in on it anyway. Japan is a heck of allot more open to change then China is anyway. That's for sure.

Anime from 2:05 is "Scum's Wish" and it's super unique. It's a romance anime but I think it's more of a love story. If you look at it storytelling wise It's really good. I loved it

Ngl, i was down bad and super jealous, the dude got with the slutty teacher lol. Also, that moment when the MC's crush metaphorically broke the slutty teacher was so f*cking beautiful, and the fact he got her feeling some type of way and how she was out of the loop with what he would agreed with, was fun to watch. Ima horny dude, but I love romance as well, and I thought it was funny and mesmerizing that night before she was worn out bc of the amount of sex she had with her student and the she goes on a getaway, spa trip with the teach to just falling in-love threw me out of the loop as well, in a good way. And that soundtrack of her falling in love and the dialogue from those were amazing and gave me chills. I thought the series was ok, but that last eps gave me a lasting impression, I rewatch those scenes from time to time.

So thankful that people there appreciate MHA, it was a great experience watching it, the direction is great and characters are relatable, good learning experience

berserk is one of the best mangas of all time (if not the best) but their adaptations are not good. 1997 is the only "good" one. i still have hopes someday we'll see a great berserk anime. it deserves one

I watched One Punch Man before Mob Psycho and was told it was the same author by a friend. I gave it a watch and OHHHHH MY was I not expecting that. I got a very similar humor which is high tier but the layers in that series compared to One Punch Man is off the charge.

i was so happy that someone mentioned tokyo revengers. its a great anime but the manga is way better! i would really recommend! it only has 2 seasons for now and in october season 3 will come out so i think its a really good to watch. its romantic, about friendship etc!!

I love sci-fi anime, so Psycho-Pass, Ghost In The Shell, and Steins; Gate are definitely favs of mine. Also loved 86 and hope they'll continue it.

What I love about Shonen is how unique the different worlds are! Sure there are common troupes but the world that the characters exist in is usually what draws me into a show or not.

I think Attack on Titan is the greatest anime ever because of its incredible storyline and the foreshadowing about the ending audience gets from the very beginning of the show is so amazing after we look back. And obviously all the characters are so good, the sentiment built throughout show is praiseworthy. Also, I love Deathnote... it's pretty suspenseful and captivating.

I always will be grateful to kishimoto sensei for making one of the best piece of fiction. Even though I have watched a lots if anime series so far Naruto still will be my forever most loved series. OG Naruto the best anime of all time for me. Naruto series is like my dream anime series manifested into reality just for me.

Idk, this may have been the case like 5 years ago but Western culture has changed so much since then and now it's considered pretty normal to be into anime. All the younger kids that were into it are grown up now and all their younger siblings or children are also into it now. I don't really see anyone hating on anime anymore unless you're talking to like old people or in a very reserved area.

Now a days I can have someone walk into my apartment and see my walls lined with anime posters, merch and media all over my cubbards and people think nothing of it, like its a regular thing to own or a hobby to enjoy. I guess the same can be said for Video games or my favorite, the whole "Super Hero infatuation" that has just exploded in popular media now. Its crazy how much nerd culture has become a regular part of our society now, to the point where its even taking over other mainstream trends. I guess we won in the end haha.

Bleach is just a masterpiece Even after a decade it is putting up numbers greter than many animes

Favorite anime of all time is Cowboy Bebop. It’s just the perfect blend of style, science fiction, and great music. Can’t express how much I love it.

I studied Japanese for three years and never got into anime like my classmates, but Cowboy Bebop was an exception. Still love that show.

@@berkdum-lu6166 it used to get mentioned a lot more regularly. I don’t think that the show is fading away necessarily, but it’s just that younger people watch the newer stuff mostly. Also at the end of the day Bebop isn’t such a plot heavy anime. It’s short and meditative whereas all the other anime that were name dropped in the video are long and very plot oriented, which tend to make for more accessible stories to a mass audience. Although I was surprised that one of the girls said her favorite was Neon Genesis. Not only is it old but also very experimental.

Takashi san, the anime the girl mentioned is I think its Scum's Wish. (Kuzu no Honkai). It has one of my favorite anime openings. It was nice

I feel my hero academia deserves so much more credit for someone to design so many characters who play different important roles is amazing and it doesn't just focus on Deku alone sugoiii!!!

Im not really much of an anime fan, there are 10 animes i watched at best, but the first anime i ever watched was my hero academia, people hate it because of its fandom but the anime itself teaches people so much.

Love reading everyone’s favorite anime’s down here in the comments. It really is such an amazing medium! Not sure I have one all-time favorite, but if I HAD to pick, I’d put Mob Psycho 100 at the top of that list. The story, characters, and art-style of that show are so phenomenal. It was the only hand-drawn (keyframes done in pencil) anime on TV with an episode in S3 consisting of 20,000 unique frames… which is absolutely insane!

My personal favorite anime is Chivalry of a Failed Knight or (Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry) Honestly, the action scenes, especially the swordfights were so much fun to watch, and the romance between Ikki and Stella felt so engaging. I hope we get a season 2 of that anime. I'm personally a big fan of action fantasy, ecchi, romance, and slice of life. So, stuff like Kill la Kill, Kenichi the Mightiest Disciple, Seven Deadly Sins, Slayers, and Kuroko's Basketball, because I play basketball myself. As for what question you wanna ask next, I think video games.

It has a light novel so you might wanna read that. I did read it's light novel way before anime came out and dropped it(don't remember the reason).

Attack on Titan will always be my favorite anime no other tv tripped me like this, hajime isayama really wrote one of the best tv shows of our time.

Loved this interview! It was so wholesome and I could see the people’s eyes light up when they were talking about their favorite characters!! My fave is Hunter x Hunter! From the characters (especially squad between Gon, Killua, Leorio, and Kurapika), to how the plot is developed, everything is beautiful and I can’t wait for the continuation of the story now that the author is better!

My very first anime was Sailor Moon and then Pokémon is the one that solidified my love for anime. Back in the mid to late 90s I feel like we were very limited to our choices for anime though (in the U.S.) Since then I have watched so many and hands down my favorite is Natsume Yuujinchou, his name is also Takashi. 🤗 It’s such a sweet and endearing slice of life anime that’s very underrated in my opinion.

My favorite Anime I love to watch is Tenchi Muyo! I know it's a classic but I remember when the show aired on Toonami in 2000, I was instantly hooked. I watch the OVA version, then Tenchi Universe, and capping off with Tenchi In Tokyo.

I've watched alot of animes and i love a lot of them but I'll say Gintama is my favourite anime of all time. Nothing beats it. I don't have enough words to describe how good it is. At first I mainly choose to watch it because i wanted to watch some Comedy, i happened to come across a Assassination Classroom (Koro-sensei) parody they did (on KZread)and how they one time explained Anime and Manga and how necessary fillers are, which caught my eye. I loved and enjoyed every second of it, cried tons and laughed alot equally while watching it . The Comedy, action, story, plots, Characters, backstories are so good. The parodies (Dragon ball, One Piece, Bleach Etc), reference, puns etc never disappoints. The way they always make a fool out of us by all those fake promos and stuffs is hilarious. I can rant about it all day and won't get tired. It's peak and the best. No one beats Gintama in Comedy, no one. Gin-Chan is one of the best Main Character of all time and i love him so much.

I've also watched a lot of animes since i was a kid and I'm 32 now. And I'm totally agreed Gintama is the best ever. It's not just like totally funny but the plot, the character, the op/ed songs and all are so awesome and wholesome!

My favorite Anime of all the time is pretty sure ''Bungo Stray Dogs'' I love the characters, the plot, the powers; mostly I like the personalities of the characters which seem to be unique! To be honest I have a lot of favorite characters which i love and cannot choose at all. Dazai, Ranpo, Poe, Chuuya, Fyodor, many and loads of more..... I am just waiting for the arrival of the next season to continue the interesting plot. This anime has lots of different manga with 'Alternate Universe' . Also, to add up the power we think are lame or boring have shown significance and they just turn out to be very cool in action which is what i believe after watching this anime fully, the graphics and skills of the characters are also incredible!!!

@@rudelwolf You need to watch it all to feel the ups and downs. The stakes always feel real. Ofc it's a shonen, so Luffy has to will win. And became pirate king at the end. They say it from episode 1. But so does every great fiction. Some really great stories don't have happy endings. Some ones don't land their endings, as we've seen with GoT, I personally didn't like Naruto's ending, and Bleach too. But, we'll have to see with One Piece. Oda is a great writer though.

@@GodofStories i watched all dont worry but its not entertaining bc its always a loop. always split in the beginning arc. u can always skip the first 100 episodes when its a new arc bc u wont see nec. things. its always the same. and to wait and go all through that for 3 minutes screentime fights its realy not worth it. 1 attack and all ppl has to get their response. its not the anime i felt in the past. its only copy and pasta.

I was really hoping to see someone mention Jujutsu Kaisen. As someone who has watched a majority of Evangelion, hearing them talk about it brought back my own thoughts and feelings on what ends up being a hugely psychological show. It is one of the most confusing shows you'll watch but when it ends, it REALLY makes you think.
