Very Cool! Great that your addressing the brakes (upgrading to disc). “Only 1 thing worse than a vehicle that won’t go, is 1 that won’t Whoa……” John Arvizu P.S. Can’t wait to hear it run…..

That makes two of us good buddy! And OH YEAH, I’m all for making them stop good. Nothing worse than sketchy brakes…

Thats a neat project. I cant remember seen any Willys trucks in here, but i've seen station wagons. Those are a kind of unknown stuff for me, but i think that truck is a lot cooler than the military style Jeeps.

They’re definitely very unique! I think it’s a very “tough” looking truck. I really like it.

Cool. I had a 1952 Willys station wagon project many years ago that I stupidly sold. It was chopped a few inches (3 or 4, can't remember) and had 350 / th350, HQ Holden front end and diff (I'm in New Zealand) and was looking pretty good. Wish I still had it.

Thanks Glen! That wagon sounds pretty epic with the chop. Isn’t it funny how the ones that get away continue to haunt us!? I’ve certainly got a few of those. Wish I had the space and resources to keep them all… Thanks for the comment, sir. Cheers!

I think your rear end is a dana 53. The dana 44 is narrow for the wagons. The early trucks had the Timken axle. Same brakes as 44. I am stumped by that wrong brake drum as well. We chatted on Old Willys Forum. Muleskinner. Thanks again. Nice work shop

Thanks Mike! Interesting about the rear axle. I’ll have to get under there with a scraper and see if I can find the marking. My front has a “25” cast into it, and both of the 60’s in my van have “60” cast into them…
