Her wanting to travel around the world is completely fine, the only problem is that she’s using her family’s money instead of her own. She needs to be more considerate of her dad, if she wants to travel let her do it with her own money, not making her dad work after retirement. I’m glad they talked about this with a professional and I hope they do that in every troublesome episode.

hey carla I was like “here goes society telling people to settle down again! Why not let her live a nomadic life if that’s what she wants”...until I got to the part about her dad paying for it. Nah girl, you’re GROWN! Travel on your own dime. Her dad should cut her off too tbh.

Completely agree. Travel is fine, as long as its on your own dime, not someone elses. I try to travel once a year. That sounds like a lot but the timer anticipating the travel makes it special, even I can only afford to go away for a week.

The blue ocean washed away my panties lol that's not what I meant tbh. Since she likes to travel around the world and it's in her bucket list, I think it'd be sensible to pursue something that includes that as a part of the job. And flight attendant seems the best option. No job is easy and people have to seem to be stable enough to deal with it and since she is ready to settle down which she has mentioned here. I think she should look into it. As far as I remember the job does require years of training :) so no the job isnt easy but it should be attempted for easily

I know kids lmao. You missed the point, as I said they never openly talk about it since it's always behind the scenes... and since hello counselor is a variety show they keep it 'chill', so making jokes about serious situations makes the audience think they're unimportant. Esp in majority of asian culture where mental illness is frowned upon, Dong-yup said it himself @ 21:27, I applaud him for that. I don't think bringing one psychologist on the show is nearly enough lmao. Overall though I do think hello counselor could be a good stepping stone for koreans, although it is comedic that's what makes people watch.... & I think it might've gotten some people thinking, no matter how old fashioned... hopefully overtime they can take situations like this even more serious & put it on display that it is OKAY to seek professional help.... I hope they continue like this & progress.

Because of her, others lost a lot of opportunities, like the sister opportunity to venture more, and the father could be resting now but he's still working to support her travelling expenses. To be fair, I kept thinking why did they all wait 10 years to bring this up? It sounded like the father just kept financing his daughter, but then resenting her for it when he could've been more firm about it or at least talked to her about it. I agree that the daughter should've been more mature and considerate (not just toward her father. but also her judgement of other countries as well), but it's really not fair putting the entire blame on her when her family wouldn't even talk to her about it.

@@samhayet4286 I disagree with your final sentence. A father always loves his daughter . That on its own is enough to make any father help his kid anytime. The problem is clearly with her. She uses as a reason the fact that she wants to work abroad, she goes and convinces her family and then she goes abroad and tries to have vacations instead of working. She even said it that her longest job was about 3 months and in most cases she would come back in just weeks. No company hires a person for just days or a week under contracts. 100% she manipulated her family and her own self even said it that she doesn't like jobs that are pressuring. What she really needs is to have a really rich husband and enjoy her vacations every month since working doesn't seem to really fit her.

It may seem like she's challenging herself because she's going to foreign countries by herself; however, the fact is once she is there she is hit with reality (problems and challenges) and she just flees from her problems and doesn't try to resolve it or overcome it. Like with Mexico and the interpreter job, she got yelled at by her boss and should try to improve and prove her boss wrong, but she just came back home. Then with India and Australia, she fled home just because of bugs, like if you can't overcome that problem, you are never gonna be able to get through life.

Cuz at the end of the day she didn't have any one to talk to about wanting to quit, or anyone who cares enough to encourage her to give it one more day and the day after that and the day after that. Shes very fearful, and acting like a 20 yr old bc she's never achieved anything. Long story short, she lacked a support system, quit before telling others about it. Their dad is really kind. But he has to put limitations on until when he is going to support his daughter's " personal greediness" Its not bad to travel as long as the money being spent is her. I think it too selfish if she's making her dad responsible for all hers financial matter in her travel.

I don't think it's "kind" for him to do things for his daughter, but secretly wish she didn't exist. If he's going to think that way, then he needs to take responsibility on his part and keep on giving her money when he doesn't want to- or at the very least talk to his daughter!

In america we could consider her an "expat". It's not wrong for her to want to travel the world, but she must figure a way to able to be self-sustaining. She need to find or create a job where it afford her to travel and not rely a single cents on her parents. Being 32 and still ask parents for money for traveling is so strange to me. I guess it's cultural difference.

This could be taken the wrong way because Indian isn't a language. India has more than 1000 languages.. And I feel so upset when I hear foreigners have a bad time in my country because of some lousy men. I swear there are many nice, genuine and sweet people here. It's unfortunate that you met some moron. Our country has a motto- Athiti devo bhava. Actually 20 countries in 10 years- that’s not that bad- pretty doable if you cover 2 countries/year? I’m curious to see how many miles she’s racked up though 😏😏 I think the issue here is how she travels with her dad’s money- if she is using her own $$ then who cares... I caught the travel bug myself last year and ended up traveling once every 2 months- though I have to say, as much as I enjoy the experience and seeing the world, the novelty does wear off after awhile and you end up missing just chilling out at home and not having to pack unpack or rush to catch something etc...

She needs to be a travel agent. She can work helping other people travel well, and she'll also get to travel often, because travel agents need the experience of the places they could recommend. My stepsister was a lot like her when she was younger. Got a "worthless" degree in Spanish, then went backpacking all over Latin America for around 8 years. She didn't have anyone pay for it, though. She'd work as a waitress or other service job while she was in a location, and it gave her lots of opportunities to pick up local dialects and customs from all over. When she came back and went looking for a job, her nomadic life wasn't a hindrance. At all. In fact, she got a job right away at a multinational firm translating documents and dealing with Latin American clients, because all those dialects and customs she learned turned out to be valuable in negotiations. She knew when a word that wasn't a big deal in Bolivia was a huge fricking insult in Venezuela. Or when certain gestures that mean one thing to us were considered rude to someone from Panama. Things like that. And she got paid $$$$,$$$ for the breadth and depth of her knowledge of Latin America.

She's lucky to be Korean, because she can get working holiday visas, and there are Korean communities all over the world, so she could find jobs and connections abroad. But even with that kind of opportunities, she doesn't stick with any of them. I think part of the problem is she likes the idea of traveling, but is afraid to adjust herself to any other culture. And it's hard to do that when she has low self-confidence to begin with, because it's not easy to make people from other cultures accept you.

We're somehow the same with wanting to travel, and quitting jobs fast (but not as short as 3 months though!) but the main difference is that I don't ask my family/ friends for money. Even when I was a student, when I started travelling locally, I do it with the money I saved from my allowance. As for quitting jobs and being unemployed, I make sure that I survive on my own savings, I rarely borrow money and if and when I do, I make sure to return it when I said I would. I'm the youngest and oftentimes my siblings don't want me to return the money I borrowed from them, but I still insist on paying them back. I truly believe that it doesn't matter what it is, as long as it makes you happy, then you should do it-- as long as you're not causing trouble to anyone else.
