What's Up: October 2022 Skywatching Tips from NASA
Ғылым және технология
What are some skywatching highlights in October 2022?
Enjoy giant planets Jupiter and Saturn all night throughout the month. Then watch as Mars begins its retrograde motion, moving westward each night instead of eastward, for the next few months. Finally, check out the Orionid meteors overnight on Oct. 20.

That animation for retrograde is really well done
I love these kind of updates. Please keep them coming.
I've been subscribed to JPL news for years. Whats Up is a quick, accurate way to keep abreast of astronomical events. Thank you JPL and NASA. I'll let you know what happens to me when Mars goes retrograde, according to astrologers LOL!
It's interesting to hear the motion of Earth and Mars. By talking about this also reminded me about the relationship between the distance and the spacecrafts NASA is going to have for the Mars missions.
thank you...awesome as ever....yes i remember the baffling Mars journey, looking forward to the orion showers, just hope that it's not overcast this year.
the space is so intriguing!!💗
😮WOOOW GOOD WORK NASA 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟💙🤗
Thanks NASA JPL!
Thank you
Thank you from Mars!
I already found out Jupiter at night wile I was running in a park four days ago. It’s bright even in the brighter city at night. Besides, I understand the retrograde motion now, thank you.
Great 😮
To know. When you give visuals... the questions are irrelevant..... Yes.
Let's discreetly talk about Artemis I, NASA....
When will you launch NISAR satellite?
This is a very noob question but does this information apply to the whole Northern Hemisphere, or would there be a difference between the US and, say, Europe?

Can i see Jupiter from India at night ???
✅🐟🙏
Retrograde is how they got their names "planet" or "wanderer" in Greek.

Jupiter is the most overrated planet in history. There are only storms and if you wanted to visit it you couldn't because its surface is liquid. No more comments.

I like it because it's big and easy to see with my telescope :)

I like Jupiter because it has a black monolith orbiting it. I just learned this from watching a 1968 documentary by Stanley Kubrick. 😸
