They believe their city is the best, and they start flame wars over this topic. If you say you chose this city over that one because [reasons], they'll start a war in the comments. :))

A very strange similarity between two ancient/old dances: "Calusari" - Romania, Morris Dance - UK. Calusari - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C%C4%83lu%C8%99ari Morris Dance - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morris_dance Similarities: Hat with tassels or ornaments. Scarves on the chest and back. It seems that the etymology of the Morris dance comes from morișcă, moriska, meaning dancing in circles. It has nothing to do with moors. Maybe some linguists are right saying there were an old proto-european peasant language which spread throughout Europe before it became divided into feudal states. Were Romans the culprits? Maybe and maybe not.

In Romania ne fura si politicienii si corporatiile straine.

Everything is pretty much the same, but there are a few points that I believe In the UK are better. Trains - better, roads, everything you buy, ease of shopping, official papers, updating accounts from banking to drivers license and so on - better in the UK because you don't have to walk in person to change things with a bag of documents on you. I know that Romania is getting better on these points, but at the moment that's it. - You're getting much more support from the government in the UK, from opening a business to managing and overcoming debts and so on.. - things I love more to Romania than here in the UK is home designs, construction styles and quality materials used when building a house. In the UK everything looks quite the same - small bedrooms, very small gardens and if you have been into a Romanian home and see their back garden, is massive 8 out of 10 examples. - I'm glad you bring up pros&cons, similarities, and showing a true image as everyone should about Romania and UK. - I live in the UK, I'm from Romania originally and I call both places "Home". I'm enjoying every moment when I'm here or there. Have fun!

As in the UK about 70% of words are Latin and a few percent come directly from ancient Greek, both fathers are mostly Christians and if that wasn't enough, British Christianity is more like Orthodoxy than Catholicism. In both countries the political class seems to be pursuing its own interests. Both countries are on the periphery of Europe but believe in its soul. Both countries have flooded the world with immigrants but complain that immigrants come and alter their culture. And considering that your job is dance then we can discuss the similarities between the oldest dances in the two countries: Morris Dancing vs Calusarii where the dancers dress almost identically. In both countries at the beginning of the year there is a plow festival, in the UK it is Plough Monday on January 6, in Romania it is litle plow(Plugusorul) on January1. Many expressions translated word by word retain their meaning and so on...

The difference between Romania and the UK is that mall chain stores, especially for clothes, are regarded as high end here whereas in UK I believe they are considered mass market cheap brands. About LIDL it has been thoroughly proven that product quality is quite different between western EU countries and eastern countries that get significantly worse products with cheaper ingredients.

We are a little bit bigger than UK, we have Rep.Moldova which in past was a part of Romania + they speak same language, is not excluded for Romania to unify back with Rep.Moldova . From history point i see a couple of points over ww2 Romanian lost territory, in ww2 we been force to take a side to protect teritory, nazi were likely giving hungarians transylvania, as i guess is because we fight ww1 against them alliance - then we been forced to release Bessarabia( We call it Basarabia) territory and north Bukovina, the nazi and communist had an agreement of sharing territory(Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact), so we just been forced to leave that land and allow URSS take it. After the country suffered a massive loss of territory, romanians politicians/army attempt to fight harder to recover the romanian territory from URSS as nazi were no more respecting the pact they sign with communists. The foulish ambition that the pro nazi leaders had back then was to impress nazi regime and gain some other territory with the hope one day Transylvania will be given back. After ww2, despite king Mihai take the goverment in ww2 in 1944 23 august and switch sides where Romania was fighting, we have been marked as a country which was in position to loss, despite Bulgarians being on the same nazi side and switching the sides with only 1 month earlier ( they haven't pay same price after ww2). After ww2 Romania didn't receive Transylvania right away, been forced to pay 300 million$ debt to URSS and 1,3 million german coins as ww2 tehnology debt, while Romania was also having debt to Germany of 1,2 million german coins ( we were forced to give up to that = that were up to 18 billions of Euro worth nowadays), in 1946 as people in Romania started to riot over great powers decisions, having transylvania lost and Bessarabia, so we get in the late the Transylvania back( until in the present Hungarians still want Transylvania, despite the fact it was never theirs). Bessarabia( Rep.Moldova of today), was bigger than this, When it self declare independent in 1991 out of URSS, it didn't take Budjak back as Bessarabia territory, because communist were cleaver and change the ethnicity there, we don't really know what happens to most of romanians which lived there in the budjak. The budjak territory weren't ever mention by war agreements to belong to URSS, when ukraine leave URSS in 1991, she received that part of territory, but the google maps also show a strong fact that it was never ukraine territory, URSS was some bully for Romania, as much as nazi were the same. But URSS were the highest enemy which never returned the national tresury it been given to them to protect. Romania build itself out of anyone true help, URSS help was pretty much 0, Dictatorship N.Ceausescu debt the country in 1978 was likely 5 billion $ in 1982 the debt was growing up to 11 billion $ , the dicatatorship enfury over debt increase and decided to pay in advance all the debt. Romanians were forced after 1982 to buy products on rations even if there was no war, to have less use of electricty ( we in 1989 end all the debt which keep increase and had moments where the country was penalized for paying in advance, paying 21 billion $ ). Romanians despite all the relations and difficulties still seems to forget the history, and the fact that somehow the country starve for a debt and powers like America completly ignored how much Romanians force to pay and in what conditions they lived because of the monetary debt. We are in nato now, Europe and we hard achieved that after communist fall, Americans support our ascension towards Europe Union, people tend to respect more NATO/Europe and tend to forget stuffs which affected them parents, i am up to know that nowadays Romania has a lot of great potential and show always a firm engagement towards evolution, Romanians always payed them debts as much as they could and they refrain from being debt to someone for anything, people like to be out of debts and most of them try to don't be in debt, as they feel debts a threat of being self independent and at risk of dangers if you have them. Most of Romanians nowadays, check really much the National Debt and most of them would like economical measures to estomp the National Debt growth, unfortunatly the poor politics education and people from the goverment which claims to be on the right side, have 0 priority to reform the system and clean corruption, while more people leave the country and the country loss population which decrease every year and working force on top of that chose to leave and find new ways to live and make money for themself, since they not feel like they should pay taxes and work in Romania and then wake up with 0 protection as they retreat from the working field.
