Had my very first Chicago Dog ever from a concession stand at the Lincoln Park Zoo. Had to wait in a long line to get it, but I was determined to try one. As soon as I finished it, I got right back in that same line for a 2nd one. SO GOOD.

Being from Chicago, I love the Chicago hotdog. Not only because it is delicious, but because of it's history. The Chicago hotdog was created during the Great Depression. It included ingredients that was cheap and filling. It was a affordable meal for a nickel at the time and an ample meal. The Chicago hotdog is also apart of our history 😊

The best place to get them is the stand next to the aquarium also the reason why they don't give you ketchup is because there was a shortage on sugar so they used tomatoes instead

chicago also does this thing where they slice the hotdog in half, lengthwise, grill it, then put it in a poppyseed bun with grilled beer onions and its amazing

I’ve lived in Chicago all my life and I’ve never come across this. Are you thinking of a polish or maybe a brat?

I'm from Michigan, so I grew up on Coneys. If you ever come to Detroit, try Lafayette (Or American, or both) That would be an ultimate taste test as they are both next door to each other. I agree with the other comments, not a lot of coneys use cheese. It's chili, mustard and onions and the hot dogs here have a snap. Come to town and try it, trust me, you won't be disappointed.

Smalls Nonya yes but did they actually try a real coney dog? A true coney’s from Michigan are made using Kogel Vienna hot dogs. Plus the majority are made with liquid cheese not shredded. Unlike the other dogs it does not look like they put much effort in creating their coney dog.

As someone from Seattle, gotta go with them. I remember when the Frankfurter was big there. It was an all dog place that I went for a long time. Last time I was in Seattle, it was kinda becoming hard to find. I liked the polish dog with mustard, relish and sauerkraut. I miss those.

Way down in Louisiana and I 100% agree.

From someone who lives in Seattle, you did it WRONG. Cream cheese, and onions are the core components. The split in half thing is completely wrong, grill cabbage is completely wrong, the jalapenos is optional and the sauces are also optional. EDIT: I prefer cream cheese, grilled onions, and Franks red hot sauce.

I lived in Chile for a few years where they eat a lot of hot dogs. The most popular/typical is called the Italian (looks like an Italian flag) it is a hot dog usually with a toasted bun, topped with diced tomatoes, a large helping of mashed avacado and a large stripe of mayonnaise. Loved the things, especially with mustard and hot sauce.

Second place isn't enough for the Chicago dog😢

I found it funny when Rhett used the very red sausage as a way to make the Carolina Dog seem better than the Coney, but then used the red sausage as a bad choice when against the Danger Dog. RIP to my hometown dog (Coney)

Even though hotdogs are not my cup of tea sometimes, this video made me soooooooooooooooooooo hungry
