A hat in time is just one of those games that you can just open and play over and over and has a range of ways to complete it with making your own challenges. mods also help a lot.

the fact that the community is still alive after 6 or 7 years is AMAZING becuase oh my god is the game perfect

I feel the same way, but instead of a Nintendo Switch I got a STEAM Deck and discovered gems such as A Hat in Time. Funny how handhelds can have that effect.

A Hat In Time just by itself is a 9.7/10 for me. That’s mainly the base game I give all the praise for. However, the DLCs pretty much left me more questions than answers. I get where GFB was going for. Two new levels plus a challenge mode, but when the last time I jumped into both the Arctic Cruise and Nyakuza Metro, I had a more negative impression. First, the bugs. Did you know there are invisible Rift Tokens at the sinking ship? Why didn’t the game save my progress throughout my ENTIRE JOURNEY at the metro? The game never autosaved UNLESS I GO BACK TO THE HUB! Second, how the DLCs were handled in the consoles (at least the Switch version), from the footage of the PC version, you collect stickers to get more pieces of Hat Kid dialogue, you can only use 3 at a time on console versions, and I didn’t know that it was a mod exclusive for the PC version! Thirdly, the plot of both. The base game isn’t necessarily known for an interlinking narrative and for good reason. At least it all ties into the game’s ending. The DLCs… not so much. The Cruise chapters appear to be there just to have the “frenemies” to be annoyed by Hat Kid and to reveal the fact that Hat Kid is a careless hijacking maniac that costed many lives even when she DID put herself in harm’s way to make it up for that disaster. (I guess given how Ship Shape turned out even with the Time Stop hat, she must’ve been driven mad to go that far…) And Nyakuza Metro pits Hat Kid back into a similar situation as with Subcon, making deals with a mob boss, only seizing a chance to turn against her, and the part where the Empress says, “We’ll meet again, brat!” What was the point in that? Doesn’t Hat Kid just get away scot free anyway by the game’s end? The DLCs don’t tie in with the story at all. I felt like they were just made for necessity. Or rather, they seemed to be made exclusively for PC in mind and with no care for the consoles to begin with. But they’re here anyway. And how the DLCs were treated for the console versions made me only to just have the base game just by itself… at least until a sequel fills in the blanks, which doesn’t seem to be happening given how much time it’s been and no matter what time tells…

I’ve been looking for the perfect game for me for quite awhile… this along with Undertale is just that.

Just saw this in my recomended and i need to say that this review is awesome! In the entire video there is only one thing i don't agree with you. I very strongly encourage anyone who is interested in the game to only and only play the steam version. Please don't subject yourself into downgrades of a beautifull game! But yeah thanks for your hardwork, awesome video!

I somewhat agree, the steam version is the best, but all of the versions are very playable so if you don't have access to a PC, they're worth buying.

I agree, the addition of the steam workshop mods significantly enhance the experience this game's workshop is crazy

Switch is amazing. There's a reason it still sells like crazy even now. Nintendo games are great and hat it time is awesome. Haters gonna hate.

And I was ready to like this video, but it’s just another case of some guy incapable of liking a game without saying something like “These other games do this thing wrong. This game does it right! That’s why it’s good!” You can never just enjoy soemthing, can you? It always has to be propped up over other games. Never good by itself. Only good because you like it more than something else.

Art is too varied for people like you to be deciding which ones “get it right” and which ones don’t. And then, conveniently, all the stuff you like happen to be the ones that “get it right”. Wonder how that happens…
