I had a total hysterectomy few years ago and it was the best decision I’d ever made . My oldest daughter 24 has adenomyosis and she’s been struggling with this condition for years , she try different medications she had 3 iron infusion , 1 blood transfusion nothing has work she can’t have a hysterectomy because she’s so young with no kids , she found a gynecologist that is willing to do a hysterectomy . She’s so done with this condition that at this point she’s not longer care about the fact that she won’t be able to have kids .

Thank you for sharing your experience!! The good experiences make it so much easier !! I'm so so sorry your daughter is going through that !! Adenomyosis is something not really spoken about and I feel not many drs know much about it but it's such a terrible thing!! I'm so glad she's getting the help she needs and it's unfortunate that other drs let her suffer so !!

I just had a total hysterectomy a few weeks ago. I'm 47 with two kids. I also wish I had more children. I want to tell you that I struggled with the exact same emotions that you went through. Every woman in my life told me that it was the best decision she ever did and that I'm going to be so happy that I had a hysterectomy. I did not have one single woman tell me that she struggled with the decision or that she mourned her uterus. So I was kind of alone in that aspect. We are supposed to have uteruses and we're supposed to get periods... so it was a struggle for me. I still think those thoughts, but I've kind of accepted that it is what it is. I have endometriosis, and also had fibroids and adenomyosis which is what led to my hysterectomy. You're going to be okay. Just keep saying your prayers and asking God to bring peace to your heart.

I mourned my uterus after Hysterectomy, especially because I signed for a Myomectomy, and due to bleeding, I ended with a partial Hysterectomy. I have no children, and I will never have.

I'm 24 and I'm on decapeptyl but it's making me physically sick still in pain and extremely depressed. I have endometriosis pcos and now been diagnosed adenomyosis... I'm considering a hysterectomy I have no children I always wanted them but I have no quality of life nothing is helping I can't carry on like this. Been told miscarriage rate would be high and ectopic even if I was able to concive. And even if was able and got through that I've read high risk of premature birth due to adenomyosis as the womb cannot stretch and accommodate as much. I don't know what to do. A massive part is saying have the hysterectomy but I'm also terrified and feel so alone

I was scheduled for the hysterectomy twice . The first time they did a diag laparoscopy, and the second time it was canceled because I was pregnant. Don't lose faith or hope. I'm grateful to God for the miracle He's blessed us with it is more than possible. There's many people who have gotten pregnant with adenomyosis, and carried full term. Ultimately the choice is whatever you choose is best for yourself but don't beat yourself up over anything
