It was more of a mindset, though, as by the time I was 26 I turned towards spirituality to find fulfillment. I found that I had the same aspirations in my meditation as I formally had for my academic and work goals. I found out the hard way that fulfillment and joy can't be found through this approach. Damn, this feels just like me. I’m 35 this year, got laid off from a job in a field I no longer even like and have wondered why I wanted to do it in the first place.
