Watching a full match with you was something else but at the end of the day all of us were disappointed. It was sad and depressing how we were playing. The only bright spot of the day was edmund. Hope he will do good in future.

Our players were not able to take touches, make continuous 3-4 accurate passes, not checking shoulders just running, only Edmund impressed a bit. A coach like Ashley Westwood is required to excel their basics and intensity which they are missing from last 10 games. Zeeshan bhai ne bilkul sahi kahaa we are in poor form especially after SAFF cup. Igor is always making excuses, he should admit poor preparation and game-play by team.

We all know the root issue to be resolved is going back to the basics which is upgrading our youth and domestic structure. However, since we still have to make do with the present crop of players, here is a radical suggestion- how about a 3-2-3-2 formation. 3 solid defenders (jhingan/bheke, anwar and Bose) assisted by 2 DMs (Apuia/suresh, jeakson/tangri) for the defensive half. Poojary is too attack oriented and poor in defense. So by all means, we are technically playing with 3 defenders right now. The offensive half will need to consist pacy attack driven players who have to still fall back during defensive transitions. These could be LW (mahesh/Liston), RW (chhangte/puitea) and mohanan/Brandon/sahal down the center. For the strikers, VPS/gogoi /bipin on the left and David/edmund/Rahul KP etc on the right.

The thing is that a player like chhangte did so well in isl in comparison to others was one obviously mumbai were one of the best plus the midfield made sure that he was given those through balls which gets him inside the penalty box so unless ur midfield don't get in the game u can't win anything

Until and unless there is creativity in midfield our team ain't going anywhere. Our Midfield was invisible against Kuwait. Again long ball clearences are a historical tactic. Stringing passes from backline and able to handle pressure at the defensive level is what we want from our team. But again, been watching Indian football since chettri debuted but all these years all I could find was our team playing long balls and surrendering possession under pressure. Watched games from U-17/19 level and they do have creativity in midfield but I don't understand how we fail to create passes in the mid half in our senior men's team.
