@@iZotopeOfficialI have looked at my account, I have spent what must be about £1000 pounds that last few years on the full suite and updates. still you release something like neutron 4 with no real substance, and you still want to charge me 118 pounds. sorry but as the guy said your loyalty offers are not competitive at all. something like this should be 49.99 for people so invested in the ecosystem. Im also someone that likes to keep myself up to date, for me to say no more, says something.

My "Loyalty" upgrade offer for Neutron 4 is $149. My "Loyalty" offer for Music Production Suite 5 is $249--this in spite of already having every product in Suite 5 except Neutron 4 (I also have RX 9 Advanced). Isotope upgrades are overpriced. Except for RX 9 Advanced, I'm going to stop upgrading.

This!! I can’t think of any other developer in the whole pro audio industry who have a worse upgrade policy and / or customer experience than iZotope. Even Avid is better. In an age where manufacturers like Kilohearts make feel so good about paying them, several times per year iZotope is extremely consistent at making me feel dumbfounded and like🤷‍♂️😠. I don’t know how many times I tried to communicate to them to fix their godawful business policies. They don’t care.

well you should be using izotope plugins to make money 150 is cheap and they're development team needs to make money so they are paid the money they are worth nothing in this life is free or should be free when they make a new product for you to use if they worked like that they would have gone out of business a long time ago giving every on free hand out

@@noahwallace3458 I hope that you will allow me to use my plugins in a way that suites me. If I make money using plugins, I can do so with non-iZotope types and even the venerable Neutron 3. The $149 upgrade price is too expensive for me. I appreciate iZotope's willingness to negotiate a lower price and I may take them up on this offer. Since you have such strong feelings regarding iZotope's profit margin, perhaps you should negotiate for a higher price.

some of it seems pretty cool but I'd rather have some more basic features that are currently lacking? linear phase EQ? custom time settings for dynamic EQ? Look ahead? oversampling? Ms ? a mix and makeup gain slider for every module? so much just really simple useful stuff is missing.

A lot of what you just mentioned is in Ozone, as a whole and as individual modules, which is probably why it's not in here (maybe they didn't wanna mix the two, idk, I don't work for them, LOL).

Just use a DAW where you can oversample any plugin you want (Reaper, Cakewalk,...). So you don't have to choose your tools based on this feature. Linear Phase mode is not important for most mixing decisions and if it is, there are plenty of other tools available. Usually you care most about linear phase in mastering. I think the algorithms behind the dynamic eq prevent custom settings. And it works quite well. If it doesn't, try to add tools to your bucket that do so. Price wise Izotope products offer so much, that it is kinda ridiculous to blame them for missing features. Just don't rely on one tool. It is hard to find tools combining so much features. I appreciate that.

Yeah I've got ozone. The MS is pretty clunky. Why can't we just get an EQ that does it all? Fab filter does it way better. I got neutron becuase I wanted something that would work in 5.1 and 7.1 as well and found out that doesn't even work in reaper. Also, why can't we integrate saturation right into the EQ nodes like spectre or god mode?

Please bear with me because I love Neutron and I use it all the time but: I’m shocked there’s still no Mid/Side functionality in the EQ Module! This is implemented in pretty much any other EQ people could use, even stock EQ. I have to use Logic’s stock EQ to perform a simple task that Neutron can’t fulfill, which defeats the purpose of an all-in-one mixing solution. iZotope, please add this to Neutron 4 with an update, PLEASE!!!

Only if they don’t care to stand behind their products and fix basic problems that needed to be solved a long time ago, without making their consumer base pay for it. I really don’t mean to be rude, iZotope, I have faith you’ll stand behind your GREAT products and also willingly address unforeseen issues in favor of your consumer, rather than taking advantage of the faithful consumer wallet.

The EQ that comes with Ozone has mid side functionality. It can also be used as an individual plugin. I'm assuming they wouldn't add it to Neutron so that you would still be forced to buy Ozone or a bundle

That's really fun to see how the GUI is still sluggish, especially on the official demo video :) 250 bucks for dynamic equalization with side-chain(look for free TDR Nova), transient shaping aka "punch mode"(look for free Kilohearts Snap Heap, with great possibilities for modulations and 30 free great plugins included), saturation/distortion aka "trash mode" (Killohearts Snap Heap is still here). Still sluggish interface, no M/S Mode, no Advanced dynamic EQ, no additional EQ modes(linear/natural phase), heavy on CPU, not the straightforward interface(Alloy 2 is still more simple and versatile). Great job iZotope :D That's fake update and robbery, guys.

@@parboilrice If they pay any attention to the response of AVID customers when they went complete subscription mode- they won't do it. However...they really should add pretty much every single one of those things listed...this is literally v4 of the plugin. Although it would get heavy on CPU...there'd actually be a reason for it to be heavy on CPU. Right now its heavy on CPU for no apparent reason other than inefficient coding

I actually used this to breathe life into some backing tracks, and full recordings I couldn’t separate. I had files made in 2004-2006 and lost a lot of the original session. But had the full 88.2khz 2 buss Wav tracks. They just needed some decent overhaul mastering. I didn’t want to rack my brain, over a small reunion gig project. Usually I’ll do my own mix on a buss, and then actually put Neutron on an Aux send. I’ll have it feed it with or without plugins I’ve applied. Then I’ll add a bit of both sometimes, or eliminate one of the other. The send aux allows me to see if it’s going to work. But this helped on old flat mono mixes I made 20 years ago…that I needed again to play live! I just don’t have time to really go all surgical without the stems I lost back then. So this had been an invaluable “enhancer” on backing tracks, and songs I have in singular wav files that may be old. It’s been the best software to get them up to today’s standards. I’ve used the Fab sets and still do…but for sampling break beats, hits and songs you have no stems for, this software can work very well for that! And be an all in one enhancer! I usually do a wet/dry and never 100%. If the issue is very obvious, I’ll fix it with EQ or dive deeper into the software. Reminds me of the Waves CLA plugins, I’d use for a cheap acoustic/singer song writer session fee. It’s not perfect, but gets it 70% there without having to second guess much depending on context. I do live backing drums and synth tracks in a band, while playing guitar. This is really helpful to pull those old tracks out, and have a better live mix.

I'm really a big iZotope fan and use the Music Production Bundle religiously. However, $200 bucks for this upgrade that I already paid to get upgraded from MB2 and again for MB3, sorry I can't do this anymore.

I have a question, at this point would iZotope's Suite be better or FabFilter's?

I have had the Izotope Suite for a while now and I am not using Neutron and Nectar for two reasons and I wonder if others feel like that, so Izozope could make a big improvement for our workflow: Firstly I find the exciter MUCH too strong, it would be good if there was a way to generally tell Neutron and Nectar if you are an exciter friend instead of turning it down everytime. Secondly, Izotope Products stand for ease of use and a quick first result; but actually it takes VERY long to have the AI run over EACH TRACK separately and then OZONE for the master. So what I would love to have is the following (inspired by your intercommunication e.g. with the visual mixer): I would like to have one instance of Neutron/Nectar on my standard chain on each track on bypass (zero latency!), so whenever I open a new track, it is on, but does not cause disturbance. When I am done with the song, I would love to have a "remote" plugin like the visual mixer (or even Ozone) und the Master track, to switch them all on at once, run the song, all instances do their thing during that run through and that way all AI magic is done AT once. Then I can go through and check each track and fine tune. That would save SO MUCH TIME for doing that for EACH TRACK. Does anyone else feel that way?

I love the auto mask feature but would love to see reverb and delay into neutron with sends that can be grouped to certain busses. And idk what happened but older versions you could automate eq bands in ableton. You can’t on 3.

Does Neutron 4 still let you open each module as a seperate plugin or did they go for a strictly all-in-one-instance approach this time? Do the Neutron 3 plugins get overwritten by a Neutron 4 install? Considering an upgrade but I want to make sure it doesn't mess with my old projects.

I know not everyone produces and engineers but for most people it would make more sense to just change the snare instead of copying a snare reference file

For some odd reason when I use it , it makes my track off beat to where when I turn it off my beat is back on the bpm then when I turn it back on it makes the track have a lag like off tempo

Lighter on CPU? Maybe?

What musical instruments and genres has the AI been trained on? It sounds like it has a bias for pop and electronic music, and feels like it makes a "bright" mix by default in reaction to the loudness wars. If you're making music with instruments other than guitar, bass, vocals, drums, and piano, then it really hasn't "learned" how to mix them.

Hi. Do we do anything to the mix at all before using Neutron 4? for example, taking out frequencies here and there to make drums punch ... and how do we work on one track while inside Neutron 4. thanks

Just think of this as an all in one mixing tool that you can drop on any channel in your mix that you want. It has everything you would need, eq, compressor, transient shaper, exciter (saturation) etc

In the installation process of Ozone 9 there is an ALIEN FACE. Keep bringing the alien. 😀

I own the 3 version … should i pay again for the 4?

Unfortunately $150 is too much to justify these features in which I already have other plugins that can do better. Also, the Neutron 3 UI is still a mess on Windows and will not scale. Am I to expect this won't ever get fixed and I'll have to pay for Neutron 4 in order to read the text in the plugin?

No. Soothe2 is to remove resonance and harsh frequencies. Unmask is rebalancing a signal. It is likely identify the two conflicting elements. Separating them and rebalancing the levels in real time. Similar to Ozone 9 rebalance. This technology has come a long way in the last few years.

@@iZotopeOfficial I'm assuming this is so you guys can streamline the coding process to be more efficient...adding OpenCL/Metal Graphics Card support...adding Mid/Side EQ...and linear phase EQ...parallel and serial dynamic EQ modes...during the next update?!? There are just too many free plugins...and YT videos pointing you to these free plugins nowadays...I still use Neutron almost everyday...but this upgrade...not worth it for people who actually know what they are doing. This AI EQ curve matching is a gimmick for beginner mixers/producers...

I was really hoping that it would bring useful mixing tools…like a comprehensive limiter and d Esser and a Fudging Hold function and look ahead in the compressor …so simple…a hold function and look ahead. no …AI crap , I moving back to fabfilter. I even gave it a try to check out performance improvement, replaced all my neutron 3 plugins by neutron 4...saw zero improvement...in fact it had a very tiny bump on the cpu.

I mean the whole point of izotope is the AI stuff. If you wanted to manually do everything then you should rightfully go back to fabfilter as they have way more comprehensive plugins for manual mixing.

neutron 4 is a great plugin, its a shame that 90% of the comments here are about the loyality offers instead of the plugin itself.

Could've just added these features to Neutron 3, no mid or side, and the GUI has gotten worst. Neutron 2 had the best GUI.

How is this a whole upgrade ? I love izotope but please for the love of god just fix the eq module. Low frequency cuts sound awful adds like 3+ db just cutting at 60hz which is honestly awful. Linear phase natural phase ? And the exciter module NEEDS oversampling. Every most basic 10€ plugin has oversampling. I wouldnt even upgrade to this if it was 20 bucks. Really not worth the money there is no improvement.

Sorry, but Its buggy, heavy on CPU, and expensive. I have Win10 and Studio One, trial gives me crashes and mistakes. Pricing: I own MPS and Newuton 3. 150$ for upgrade? You`ve told other clients to reach out to customer support for lower prices, but why? I don`t want to ask for a fair price. It should be there from the beginning. For 150$ I can have a Mix and Master suite from PA for 1 year, and they are adding new plugins almost every month I`m not impressed

I have the same sentiment. not having my money anymore unless they have a good reshuffle of their priorities. Arturia on one hand for example give very fleshed out solid updates that you feel are worth the price, not only that but you get very frequent FREE updates in between releases to improve what you already have. Izotope on the other hand as I said set high charges for next to nothing and over the last god knows how many years I think I can count on one hand how many smaller free updates I've seen to simply improve the product id already purchased.

Dunno. Downloaded the demo and ive been playing around with it. It seems even more CPU heavy which is always an izotope problem. Im not sure it does a better job than 3 either. I often find the sculpter module is also very cpu heavy and it often. Effects the sound in way s im not happy with so I usually end up turning it off. The masking feature is something ive wanted to help keep separation between kick and bass and it seems to do a decent job.Adding trash distortion is ok but if i want trash ,ill use trash. Lol. Ill keep playing around with it but im not sure im going to upgrade yet. Maybe wait until they get a few revised versions out.

Izotope and their upgrade philosophy is pricy and overall just very anti-consumer, it's absolute insane. Bought Neutron 3 a few months back for 200$. Now they charge the same amount for a few new enhancements. Talking to support they weren't able to help me in any regard or find a solution and just wanted to sell me the upgrade. They blocked me off when I said I don't want to pay for this upgrade, lol. Absolute embarrasing when you see how other big companies give their substantial updates completely for free but izotope wants to drain our money left and right... I'm gladly staying away from such anti-consumer companies!!!
