CAMPUS CRAWL is the series where I take you to the best college campuses across the world! I'll show you the student life, campus culture, and interesting traditions each school has to offer. Hopefully, it'll inspire you to go explore your dreams.
The University of Washington or UW (pronounced "udub") as the students call it, is often referred to as the Public Ivy Leauge of the Westcoast. Basically, it's the Harvard of west.
I loved the college campus layout and architecture. Everything just works so well together. Suzzallo Library was my favorite. It's literally the Harry Potter room. It's HUGE - the biggest study hall I've seen thus far. I can imagine myself flying brooms in it.
During our college vlog, we first visited the Red Square. This is the center of University of Washington.
Then we went straight to The Quad. This is like the Harvard Yard, except even prettier! The Quad has red brick buildings and a huge grass field just like Harvard, but it's also covered with cherry blossom trees. So in the spring, it's absolutely stunning.
Afterward, we went to the Husky stadium - the home of the Huskies! UW loves the Huskies. Go Dawgs!
Right by the stadium is a lake. The University of Washington has a special tradition called "Sailgating." It's like tailgating, but instead hosting a pre-game party in the trunk of your car, the party is on a boat.
Then we went to check out the electrical computer engineering classrooms. Fun Fact: UW's computer lab is where Bill Gates first developed his interest for computers.
Lastly we went to the Suzzallo Library. It's magical.
Overall, student life at UW is vibrant and full of spirit. The bad thing is that Seattle rains too much.

Hi, a senior at UW here (been here for the past 4 years), I agree with the many comments saying UW isn't a huge party school, which we are not. During our home games, students do not get free tickets, we purchase them but for a much cheaper price (Dawg Pack Tickets). We do have sunny days in Seattle, I get we have the reputation of being a rainy city but students have a chance of enjoying the sun throughout the school year. I appreciate wanting to appeal to viewers to the school but please do more research before doing these videos

Some more details below: -The Electrical Engineering building is one of the two Computer Science Buildings -We do jump in the fountain when it’s cleaned every other year and it’s extremely deep (8-12ft) -The maker studio is in two of the student dormitories, so no matter where you live on campus you’ll have easy access to one -the study space at UW is enormous, we basically have an entire 3 floor library dedicated to studying

UW is NOT known to be a Party Campus, but a competitive academic campus. Yes, there's a time to play, but we study quite a bit to expand. There's an expanded HUB or student union is nice. Stellan Rogers so like collegeboard considers UW as a match school for me bc i fall within the average to slightly above average range of the school (based off of sat/act) and their acceptance rate is above 20-25% (UW is abt a 49% acceptance rate). any school with less than a 20-25% acceptance rate is considered a reach school for anyone no matter the grades.

I graduated in 2016. My neice I'd looking at colleges so, I wanted to check out KZread videos. I thought this was by a UW student at first but he's getting so much wrong I realized he's not. It's a cool idea to go around & tour, but it's important to be accurate. It's 2 years old. He's likable. I hope he's still going, but has learned to research a little better.

As an alumnus I have to say that students do not get free football tickets, they are greatly discounted but it's GA in the student section. I recall at least sometimes getting free tickets to volleyball, soccer, and other generally non-televised sports, just not any of the major sports.

Entertaining & informative U-Dub crawl--thank you!! IMHO U-Dub was not a "huge party school" when I was there in the 1970s. I loved studying in Suzzallo Library (although some creepy "tourist" guy flashed me there one night. There used to be some rows of tall wooden study "carol-niches" at one end, which made it easier to take a nap... You feature the beautiful brick PhiGi house frat (and my sorority--Kappa Alpha Theta--btw No. 1 in GPA of any living community). Husky stadium seats over 70,000 people. Next time, don't skip showing the famed U. of Washington CREW HOUSE on the Montlake Cut canal, and the sprawling lower campus with its med schools...and the famed Observatory, the fairly new U.W. Gates Law School and , lastly, the bohemian "The Ave" shopping street. Could also show some photos of the amazing FALL COLORS from all the maple trees. Maybe mention that U-Dub campus was designed by the famed urban landscapers--the Odegaard Brothers (or at least one of them). Finally, I have one correction: Seattle actually gets LESS rain than New York City (in inches). It's true!! Plus the rain on the East Coast is like a monsoon. In Seattle, it is often light spiritual sprinkles, with a rainbow behind it. Google it. And, one big reason to choose University of Washington: Great hiking and downhill skiing and serious sailing/boating is literally only 1 hour or less away. (Submitted by oldy-moldy former U-Dub cheerleader - during Coach James era...now an international tax attorney.... Go figure.)
