I also make knive handles, that's what originally got me into leather working- making sheaths for my knives. I gotta say, your son makes some killer looking knives. Mad props.

I'm 63 and while I've been braiding leather since the 90's, turning leather into Field Note covers is something brand new to me. I watch your channel almost exclusively because of the excellent tips and the sense of humor behind each one. Thanks for the shop tour, the documentary they did was nice and all, but it's better from the artist's perspective. I am having trouble finding corner punches that line up with the sides to make a nice corner, so have been free handing it using a nickel as a reference and a scalpel. Baby steps, right? Thanks again for keeping me entertained and inspired. Ronzo

Thanks for sharing Artie ! Most people think shops are huge, elaborate facilities designed for production. When most of the time they are comfortable spaces, with ideas for layout and use, that are thought out ( or not so much) out of trial and error and just "making it work" for what you need. Thank you for sharing , I enjoyed the tour !! Im glad you made sure to give Chloe proper credit and her own "workspace"!

Always like to watch your videos for some insights and how you go about them . I've gone to a couple of shows and work shops to try to better myself , I do more belts and knife sheath over the years but starting to do holsters and wallets now ! Learning the computer to better thing as well , WAS AN OPERATING ENGINEER AND NEVER DID ANYTHING ON the computer back then to busy riding and sippin Jack Daniels. Thanks again for your sharing your skills , NOT MUCH HELP AROUND CHICAGO LAND ! Couple of leather shops here are top secret squirrels don't ever want to share any trade secrets , like I'm going to steal all there customers ! Thanks again , Johnny, reddoc leathers .

Recently got back into leatherworking and your videos have been a great inspiration. Thanks for spending the time to make them, and to show us your workspace! I did have a question, what is the brass device you sometimes use to press numbers or names into leather. Looks like it has the individual characters and you can lock them in place? That thing is too cool.
