Oh Yeah! That’s what we’ve wanted to see. Same old box as mine. They built them to last. Gemini disgorged and a forceps for me.Chopping board is essential too. I use foam rig winders tronix but like your wallet as it seems to keep everything in sensible order. I never thought of plasters!!! I also take a pair of waterproof ‘site’ gloves. They keep my hand warm and out of trouble / grunge. I’m definitely carrying too many weights then! Over the moon that you did this video and given the weather we’ve been hiding from it is perfect. By the way… I went down Goldcliff last Monday 14th and it was looking superb. I bet after the storms there’ll be some fish around soon eh? Super video….. love it. Priest…spanner 3/4 inch absolute must. Great points made . Thanks again .ps overhauling reels next? Cheers Clive 👍🎣

Hi Clive, hope you're well. I had a feeling you'd like this one as I remember you asking before what tackle I carry. I'm far from being an expert but I think we all like to see what our fellow fishermen have in their box. Yeah those boxes are great, this one has fallen down rocks, fallen up rocks, performed cartwheels and it's still going strong...I think only a bomb could destroy it ha! Glad you mentioned forceps, reminded me that I need to get some, very useful things. Like yourself, I know a lot of people who take gloves. I had a nice pair bought for me last Christmas and I haven't used them yet. I've never been one to take gloves fishing with me but now I'm getting a little older, I think this will need to change! As for overhauling my reels, I think this is a video that I will do, especially if the weather remains bad and we can't get out. The multipliers will be due for a service shortly and so that will be my excuse to do it. Oh yeah, there should definitely be a few fish around after these storms, I'm hoping to have a few casts on the weekend, the sea is calling me now, it's been too long! As always, many thanks for watching and I hope you get a few fish during your next session 👍👍🎣

  • @riversidewithme

Thanks Morgan, I appreciate it. I've always used both. The only advantages a multiplier will give you is slightly more distance on the cast and of course, they are lighter. But on and around the Bristol Channel especially, long distance casting isn't that important. If you do fancy giving a multiplier a go, opt for one with a level wind and then you won't need to worry about laying the line evenly with your thumb. Then when you get used of it, maybe upgrade to one without a level wind (they cast further). To be honest, if you're happy with the fixed spools, stick with them....they are much easier to use! Cheers 👍👍

Haha that rig wallet is like a damn Tardis…thought you were gonna pull your rods out of there for a second. Couple questions, do you not worry that using crimps might weaken the line?
