Verse of the day:-Ephesians 1:17-20
I pray ... that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know ... [God's] incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead...

Thanks for featuring our building!❤
Vol. Fire & EMS, ED Tech, RN, now retired. I’d love to go back to work as a FF, Medic or as a RN. Thanks for sharing all you do, truly amazing technological changes since I rode a back step.

that’s New Jersey for you. every where in NJ is like that. BLS can be any type of agency whether it’s a municipality like Princeton, a County Based agency, a private company or a hospital owned agency. meanwhile ALS is strictly Hospital operated

New Jersey does not allow locally-run ALS at all per state law. ALS has to be run by hospital-based ambulance/intercept services
I LOVE how they designed the station! That said though Mike, have you thought about doing a video about Race Track Fire and Rescue Departments? I think it would be fun to do just to see what it is like when were working at a Track.

Love the study room! I almost all of my studying for my degrees while at the firehouse
Always love your videos and your attention to detail is great. Love showcasing different departments across the nation. One suggestion, the background music while people are talking is very distracting for some of us. Otherwise great stuff.

I'm always surprised to see places still called a first aid squad. Why not just be called called so and so EMS, or so and so ambulance? Personally when i hear first aid squad, I think of some barely trained people on a transport unit.

Another great video. I did notice though that in my opinion the turnout gear door from the office area is hinged wrong. It looks as though it will swing into the gear rather than to the empty wall.

Quick Question!!! Do you have any information on the life members or how that process works? It seems very interesting and possibly something to look into for my department. Thank you!
Need to check out the rescue squads in Tennessee they don't have ambulances its all technical rescue stuff go to Sevier County in Sevierville Tennessee they have a awesome rescue squad
I find it so interesting that North American services aren’t 100% paramedic staffed. In Australia, bachelors degree qualified paramedic is the minimum requirement. Is there a reason for that at all? I could google but everyone seems very passionate and knowledgeable in these comments.
@HeroesNextDoor

They are far from 100% paramedic. If that was the case we would not have enough providers. Even now it’s hard to find a paramedic at times
@thisissparta789789

Each state is different. In New Jersey, per state law, these local ambulance agencies are not allowed to have advanced life support. Paramedics can only come from hospitals and ride around in hospital-owned ambulances or in flycars. Instead, these local ambulances are certified to the basic life support level, which at a minimum in NJ is two EMTs (approximately 4-6 months of training). When they get a call requiring ALS, a hospital paramedic is dispatched alongside them, and they either meet them on scene or they intercept with them on the way to the hospital depending on the distance, the severity of the call, and how long the initial ambulance is on scene. In a place like Princeton, you will get a paramedic (almost) all the time, they just won’t be on the same ambulance as Princeton FARS. (I say almost because I assume the lowest of the low priority calls will only get BLS and no ALS dispatched.)

@@HeroesNextDoor I just find that so interesting ! We have an oversupply of paramedicine graduates in Australia and a lot end up going to the UK. I’ve heard of an increasing number going to the USA and that must be why.

Hey, I was just thinking you know what would be a great video. Let's go up to the fire expo in Harrisburg on your Pennsylvania native. I think that would be the terrific video. You can make a pound of that four or five videos in that place right there. And you know, Harrisburg at the fire expo used to be at dust, wonderland and Lancaster. But now he moved to the farm show complex and Harrisburg. That would meet awesome. Awesome videos and then you can see all the fire trucks and everything. New gear everything. Think about it. As someone from across the pond the bewildering array of ways fire/rescue/ambulance is organised seems terrible for organising things. Don't get me wrong we do have reserve/volunteer/charity/private company/ etc options in these areas but they have specific roles to support the main ambulance and fire rescue organisations.
@mrengine9

Usually yours are maintained by the country though, isn't it? Here, volunteering was the only way the towns, cities, and counties were able to afford these services. Now they're just continued in that same way because people want to keep volunteering or are slowly being taken over by career personnel but paid the volunteer organizations so that they stay volunteer in name only. It's odd how some things work but when it's all under a large incident, it's easy to know what trucks do which things.
If looks like the Guest could work as Double for Kelly Severide in Chicago Fire
@Heros Next Door . Give Winter Park, Florida calll. One of the best fire departments in Florida. \
