What's In This Homeowners Backyard River Cave?

This amazing couple invited us out to check out this cave on their property that nobody has been far into, in over 35 years! This cave was way bigger than we thought, and we never found the end to it.

This is incredible to see. This was my grandpa's house and cave, my cousin now lives there. I've played in that water for 30 years! So amazing to see what all was back there! I've never been brave enough to make it to the end of the pipe. 😂 -As per the paw prints.... there used to be a family of otters that lived in there. -And growing up, that was the BEST tasting water, ever. He switched drinking water sources after contracting a parasite (fairly certain it was Giardia, possibly also related to above mentioned otter family), and confirming it was coming from the water. So glad she had yall come out and do this. I can't wait to show my kiddos the video!

What a childhood! Your very lucky to not have to travel to see something like that but the otters would have been something else! Wow. Did you ever get close to them or were they Usualy shy or aggressive? Do you know bambisage? 🤔 The moment above yours says he's the bf of either your cousin or her daughter...

haha thats so amazing hearing your side of things! That sounds like a wonderful childhood. As cool as it would have been to see the otters, im kinda glad they weren't in there still 😅. That cave definitely has potential to keep going though and we would love to come back and push it further. Also we have to push that one beneath the actual house!

We used to go into the caves down here in Southern Illinois that come out a few hundred miles to the east in Kentucky. They are no low celling cave systems either. Most of the time they are at least 10 ft to 100ft high. We had a few stoner friends go down there without us. They were so high that they got lost & we had to send in the rescue teams after them & it even made our local news & they were still high after they got rescued after being lost for about a day. Come to Harrisburg IL check em out.

@@queen452010 have you seen the newer commercials for Washingtons water supply ^-^ they say how it's got a safe amount of fluoride for your teeth as they very casually gloss over the fact that what you sallow not only touches your teeth first, but it also goes into your stomach and then everywhere else... I could of sworn you get your stomach pumped if you eat a tube of tooth paste but I'm just glad that Washington was considerate enough to have a little bit of care for the health of our teeth rather than the countless homeless people... It's almost as if some folks way back when got together and after studying how people do things for a few hundred years , they started buying up everything and then very silently asked if people wanted to follow along or you would be coaxed out of what ever public you lived in for being a nut and then get exiled to some degree :o

Water pipe needs another mile on the end unless it can be sealed shut. In the old days you'd have a small partitioned reservoir of concrete and the water would go into a settling area first then up into a sand filter section from the bottom, that overflows into a third section with more sand holding the charcoal filter layer down so it doesn't float. The bottom is connected to a pipe finally. Before that, the same thing was made with stone and mortar. This is the "improved" design, the one in Foxfire (the books).
