💥 What’s up guys? 💥
I know that on KZread, there’s the “What’s in my bag” tag, so I thought that today, I will put a twist on it and show you what usually is in my violin case! (Because let’s be real, this is my everyday “bag”… 😀)
Leave in the comments below any items that you think could be useful to carry in an instrument case 🤔

I carry a bunch of original stuff in my violin case! For teaching I always have 9 or 12-figure dices as well as an object that I created for visualizing tonalities. For my violin mark I always carry special band-aids for long days of rehearsal (sensitive skin here!). Lastly, I always have personalized earplugs for noise reduction :)

For the wolf tones, there are actually "wolf tuners". I have one and recommended it to my teacher, who fell in love with it and now loves it more than his wife (just kidding :-)). We both have ours from a Belgian Luthier called André Theunis. That might be something you could look into. Ps: they just sit on the string, so no damage!

Have you thought about Leatherwood rosin? Many professional violinists and other string players seem to be raving about it esp. with how the maker hand blends it fresh for you and customizes it to achieve your preferred sound. I made an unboxing video of it in my channel and a what's in my violin case video recently. I'm an adult beginner violinist so it may not be a fair one😂 we have the same mute too. I really enjoyed seeing what's in your violin case and you gave me a lot of ideas! Greetings from New Zealand.

I always used a little rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball or flat cotton makeup pad to clean the fingerboard. It can be used whenever needed, with all the strings on, bcs you can slip the cotton under the strings and can clean the strings themselves with it. It removes a lot of "invisible" gunk. But be very careful not to touch the varnished wood with it. Has anyone else tried this?

I do this too; I even show my students how to do it. Our school can't afford to replace fingerboards on all the instruments every few years, so steel wool isn't a good idea for us.

They put it in handcrafted wood carriers, wrapped in leather. Their site also has silk violin bags, leather bow sheaths, etc. Take a look and maybe post a review or something?

Only because you asked... a couple items that I have in my case that you don't have. Finger nail clippers. 2 tuning forks. Spare shoulder rest dust bag (wraps violin so nothing will rub on the finish accidentally) For my young daughter, I bought "Magic Rosin 3G". It's way too grippy for you but perfect for a young violinist who needs a little extra confidence. She also has a training tool that's a little copper weight that goes on the tip of her bow to help with her bow hand. And an electronic tuner. I'm sure you've tried Oliv strings; for me, they have a wonderful tone but don't hold their tuning for long inbchanging environments. They break often. I have purchased my last set and will move on to something else with better action and that need less environment control.

I've tried Eva Pirazzi strings but find that they don't last and become dull. But I really like Thomastik Vision Solo with Silver D. But for the E string I've discovered Lenzner Goldbrokat loop end 0,26. I have 2 violins that sound quite different but beautiful in their own ways. I find that my preferred strings work really well with both violins. A great dynamic range, good projection of a lovely rich sound. I go busking most days and play a very broad repertoire that includes Celtic, Baroque, Classical, Film, and Klezmer. I have single malt whisky in my violin case to clean my strings. It's great, and doesn't leave a sticky residue. I also carry a really clever sound post setter, just in case it might collapse when I'm cleaning the fingerboard.
