What's in my DOCTOR'S BAG ON-CALL?: Preparing for a Call Shift (medical resident vlog)

This video shows how I prepare for my call shift as a medical resident and what I pack in my call bag! As a junior doctor, you never know what's coming on a call shift, so the best thing you can do is prepare your food, bring clean cloths, and medical resources!
Let me know if you guys have other "MUST BRING ITEMS" that I don't know about!

I’m not in the medical field, but I am currently a SAHM, I find that bringing a few sizes of plastic zip top baggies is essential for messes (dirty scrubs), and protection (phone saver) and to keeps things organized! I keep some wipes on hand too, because you never know when you’ll need them! We love your videos! My little boy always asks to watch you. ☺️

In Sweden people working in any kind of care have work clothes (that they leave in a locker in a changing room in the hospital when going home) with at least two BIG pockets on the top and usually big pockets on the trousers as well, where they keep everything (multiple phones, stetoscope, notebook, medical tape, scissor etc). Sometimes some countries seems so old-fashioned. A really postive thing with your working clothes though is that they don't look as formal as the Swedish ones does.

I horde pens so when I go to the hospital I clean out my pens and give them to the doctors - they all love me for the rest of the night. I live about 45 miniutes form you - but some of our local patient transfer companies give out pens with clips on the top so you can clip it on your keys

Wow I am surprised that so many things all fit into your backback. You are wise using a backpack because you can put the backpack into the washer and add desinfectant. With a leather bag this would be a different story. By the way, lip balm makes the lips only temporarily better but dryer on the long run. There is plenty of information on the internet.
