College senior here! So after my years of doing this cute little thing called music edu major I've gathered quite a lot. Starting off with the 6 slotted liberty 1 mallet bag I have 3 pairs of timpani mallets 1 wood. One medium hard. And 1 soft. I don't know how many marimba mallets I have but. I have the soft cangelosi bass mallets. The entire set of the mark form mallets. Green and purple. I have about 7 pairs of vibe mallets. Ranging from bass to as hard as rocks. 4 pairs if xylo mallets. Going from soft rubber to the ross greens. 2 pairs of glock mallets. A pair of the softer white ones and some acrylic ones I never really use becsuse our conductor always wants the cheap really bad brass mallets that are bent plastic shafts and screw on heads I have too many snare drum sticks to count. A couple pairs of brushes. Timbale sticks. Field snare sticks (for pipe band snare) For accessories I have 3 different drum keys. Different cloths for snare dampening. Black towels for making tray tables. Stick tape. Earaser ear plugs. A whole pack of pencils. And manuscript paper. Every single American coin for coin scrapes. Personal triangle clamp. That's everything in my mallet bag. Not nearly as much as some people have and probably too much for others.

Cool stuff Adam! Interesting to see what isn't so readily available in the UK. My go-to sticks are: Snare: Innovative Chris Lamb CL-1 Xylo: Malletech Enhanced Fundamental (ER41 I think - Red ones!); Acoustic Percussion OS5; Chalklin MS5 Glockenspiel: Acoustic Percussion OS1/2/5, Chalklin MS2, MS3 for solo/duo stuff, Chalklin MS19 for swizzle! Timpani: Angelini Percussion/Sean Hooper series mallets, depending on rep. Marimba: Mike Balter 84/Marimba One Roundsounds (lasted me all the way through 2 degrees, not replacing them now!) Got some discontinued Innovative Zivkovic 4s as well.

That's a pretty nice rounded setup! Haven't heard of a lot of these brands, I have to get to the UK sometime :)

Personally I would change the VF sticks for some promark equivalents or IP just because VF wood isn't what it used to be and you're 12 year old sticks are definitely much sturdier than the SD1/2 you can buy these days.

i feel this mallet bag is more solo focused than orchestral focused this is what my cheapish band/orchestra mallet bag looks like pair of timber soft rubber mallets: basically very cheap soft rubber mallets that work well with vibes /marimba in large ensemble pair of timber very hard rubber mallets: very cheap mallets for xylophone aux percussion or soft glock playing IP fundimental F9: good for loud xylophone or glock playing Innovative Percussion F1.5: if i need to play marimba in its low range but mostly used for cymbals Vic Firth SD1 gens: Concert snare stick I like spending a bit more on my timpani mallets because i see them as more important Vic Firth CT1 gens: used for medium or soft timpani playing Vic Firth T3 staccato: loud or stacatto timpani playing

I impulsively bought almost everything you listed. Unfortunately, the stick bag you linked is too small for the marimba mallets you recommended. The zipper doesn't close over the top of them. Probably going to get the Galaxy Grip bag instead...

Is a Adams 4.3 oct Soloist padouk marimba good for beginners or do you think a pearl em1 malletstation would be a better choice?

If you're still looking I would go with the Adams 4.3 Padouk Concert instead of the soloist series because the soloist does not have graduated bars like most concert marimbas do and going from practice at home to your marimba at school will have different size intervals. I'd say it's worth the extra $300.
