A 3% growth rate for a developed economy is extraordinary.. China has a population 5× of the US .. So for China such growth rates should be normal untill the per capital GDP reaches that of US levels.

Economic growth rate of a developing country is always higher than that of a developed country , although by definition China is a developing country but it looks fairly developed one on top . But here is the deal , the US is the biggest consumer in the world , so whatever happens there , affects everybody

at current rate China is adding a Netherlands sized economy every year, and an indian sized economy every 3.5 years. so yeah, better worry about your brexit than a slower RATE of growth in China. China's slow down is intentional, and will be beneficial in the long run, as the current Xi administration is curbing the overcapacity in economy, which is a leftover problem from the previous Hu administration's over investment due to the 2009 world financial crisis. China lost their competitive advantage in making Nike sneakers to vietnam and Bangladesh years ago, so why is this channel trying to portray that's a bad thing? This means China is moving up the economic ladder, and is producing higher value goods and services.

Yes i agree with you with the need to hire a financial advisor to help you diversify your portfolio by including Mutual Funds, Etf's, the 11 GICS groups, inflation-indexed bonds, and stocks of companies with reliable cash flows rather than growth stocks, where prices were based on future prospective earnings. Following these principles and insights from my CFP, from 2020 to date I have made around $900,000.

Even China reaches its lowest point, there's nothing to worry about. The political structure in China allows the existing government set their eyesight on the long-term future, whereas the so-called democracy in the US makes the politicians short term oriented. Over time, China will take off way further. Just my personal opinion.

One very important thing that you did not address is Xi Jinping’s favoring of Chinese state owned enterprises (SOE) over Chinese private enterprises (PE). PEs are more efficient and create more wealth and more jobs than SOEs, yet investment is now being preferentially directed to SOEs and away from PEs. This represents a definite break with previous policy began with Deng Xioping and continued through Hu Jintao which favored PE over SOE. The SOEs are not creating the wealth that PEs created and the economy is slowing as a result. Even access to the shadow banking credit markets is being restricted to PEs which are not growing as a consequence. This is an important story that needs to be covered if we are to understand China.

There is so much Chinese defensiveness in this comment section. Reporting on markets and economies slowing and evolving isn't slander against China. >an Indian talking about China Oh boy. China’s slowdown is natural, it’s called convergence - where less developed economies explode in growth as they initially industrialise, before petering out and stabilising once they fully industrialise and catch up to other fully developed economies. You can think about this logically too, some other guy says the chinese gdp is now at 10 trillion, do you know how much money it takes to make that increase by 10%? Besides, China’s economy grows less but it gets to keep more of its value, as domestic sales have picked up (due to the rise in wages) and exports have decreased. This slowdown doesn’t mean much for ordinary Chinese people but it does mean China’s trade partners need to be on the lookout. Growth isn’t everything.

Ordinary chinese people have felt the slowdown. I know people who live in China that say the economy isn't what it used to be 5-10 years ago. I would say 2008 during the Beijing olympics will be remembered as the Chinese golden age by future generations, it's come to an end these past few years and will continue to slow. Not that it is a stagnant economy, but it's less impressive for sure.

Obviously this video is very interesting to understand, I was intrigued by the words spoken by the presenter. From the other side that I see, the decline in GDP per year is due to declining exports and imports, maybe the products produced by every factory in China experience a drastic decline in material or quality, or it could be because some countries have started to reduce imports to Chinese factories. . But this does not put China at the lowest point of the economy, it only loses in one product. China creates various technologies that are used by the people of Asia and even Europe. It's only a few percent decline, I'm sure the Chinese economy will start to stabilize again next year, even more than you think.
