What's driving Kartikeya to distraction?
Kartikeya doesn't dream when he sleeps. At the very least, he doesn't remember any of them once he wakes up. That could be why he does his heavy dreaming in his waking hours, with eyes wide open. Which raises the obvious question: what does Kartikeya Singhee dream about? Let's get inside his head!

I come from a middle class background and the moment I saw Porche I told myself, no this is not a video for me but I kept on watching. The credit goes to the way you were presenting, it was more like I was listening to someone preaching. Then came Octavia and I thought I should wait a little longer and ultimately I realised that you are helping me to dream correctly. A colleague of mine once said that if you are dreaming of buying a car or anything, you should always dream big. Thanks to you, you made me realise that with example!

Everytime I look at this person, I am amazed thinking how a person can know this much about everything and be right. And the things which he doesn't know about, I love the way he loves to silently listen. Even I don't possess this quality so refined. I have never seen a person like this ever, until I saw you guys. Way to go!! You guys have given a very promising start. Definitely feel that making the stories more personal (like the debut video of Shumi’s) is how you can hold the attention of viewers. It also helps separate the grain from the chaff - viewers who are on the lookout for a quick review will be better served by the other channels doing exactly that while people who expect a wee bit more in return for their time get that from here. Kartikeya, back in 2019, when the Harrier first arrived and the review embargo lifted, yours was the first video I watched. That was the first time in my life that I recall someone reviewing a car with a constant smile on their face, opinions and quips that felt sincere all throughout, and an unmatched attitude I simply couldn't get enough of. So much so, that over the next year-ish, every time I needed to see any car's review, my KZread search would almost automatically put your name right after the car's name, since it knew that's all I did. From that day to today, I've come closer to my dream of being an automotive journalist. Every single time I finish writing up a new post or review, trust me, believe me, I reflect back to the image of you quipping about your height as you reviewed the car. Of course, today, the Harrier is what graces my garage, and I truly mean it when I say, thank you. I know not if you would read this personally, but as someone who lives and breathes cars, someone who writes about them for a living, someone who watched Shumi's video about automotive journalism countless times, and someone who races motorcycles, I sincerely thank you.

Loved this video, especially about the conversations with your cars & motorcycles. Irrelevant is the make, model, and form of your vehicle as long as it speaks to you and you speak to it. The Porsche is indeed a dream. One I have had since many a years. I have a scale model of a 911 on my desk as a reminder that it is out there for me to achieve by striving towards it. OMG absolutely amazing. You reconnected me to my Tata Nano, her name was Basanti and yes I name my cars. I had got a custom emblem with her name that she proudly wore next to her Nano badge making her the one any only "Nano Basanti" . She spoke to me every time I was behind her wheel and we too had long chats while driving on the Mumbai Pune express highway, she was full of untamed power and had a childish desire to overtake cars twice her size, ha ha ha. I miss her a lot. I had to let go of her when we relocated to a different country. We also had a CNG version of the Nano and she was my wife's car her name was Ananda, meaning full of joy. We both were big Nano fans and Nano was one of our dream cars.

@@shu_mar well here's something that I've always thought about. May be a topic for a future episode of Thisconnect. How serious as a country are we about road safety given the fact that we lose more than a lakh lives every year due to road accidents. Has the ministry of road transport and highways completely lost the plot on what needs to be changed in order to improve the situation? I mean active and passive safety features in vehicles are fine. But what about simple things like implementing lane discipline on highways and expressways. Studies have shown that most accidents on highways and freeways happen because of overspeeding, low visibility, stalled vehicles and vehicles changing lanes without proper indication. The issue of overspeeding is being addressed by automated speedcams on newer expressways but what about slow moving vehicles sticking to the fast lane theryby impeding the flow of traffic. Most of the freeways in the US have a higher and a lower speed limit. Should we implement the same rule in India?

Hola Karthik! Hope you find your conversation companion!
May 1995. I was 6 years old. My father was prepping to take the Shatabdi to Delhi International Airport to fly to Germany for training from Simens. When he came back, off all the photos he took, there was one where he was in a car. BMW, Left Hand Drive and I think they were doing the Autobahn at night. Now I couldn't see the speeds they were doing or even the make or model of the car. All I knew was mesmerized by THAT picture and that picture alone. And believe me, there were pictures of tall, beautiful ladies in them. But that...That particular photo probably gave me the most amount of conversational material with my dad than I could ever have all these years. I was literally badgering him about the car, about the drive, about why he was not in the driver's seat and how was it for 2 years. Probably the best conversation ever had, even though it was repetitive. The fascination with vehicles along with something to talk about it enthusiastically with someone in the family is uplifting. Vehicles are fun. Vehicles are experiences. Vehicles help connect!!! #WithACupOfTea

This is always a case. We always find a missing element, nothing is perfect. We need to just enjoy our time with these machines. I drive my brother's xCent and always feel I should have owned a VW or a Skoda but forget how great even an xCent is with all the features it offers to me while being shy and embarrassed in front of other cars. One long journey and I then sense that I really like my car just the way it is. Phew. What the hell! Damn, The video and its trance music had an effect on my mind.

Had the opportunity to drive this machine without abs and tc (we had taken the circuits breaker out) and it was like panther on a killing spree. And then with all the electronics on and it seemed all poised. I had a swift back then and post this drive I fell in love with vrs.. I just wish it was a bit reachable...

Sounds crazy! But this is true. Electronics are essential to allowing average drivers to access some very very serious performance with reasonable safety.
