A follow-up question could have been: Studies indicate that individuals of greater height are more susceptible to certain cancer types. This is thought to be because taller individuals have a larger number of cells, and thus, a higher number of cells that could potentially turn cancerous. For every additional 5 cm in height, there is an increased risk for six specific types of cancer.

I’m 183 barefoot. I’ve had my fair share of time in Korea. In a crowded subway wagon, I’d find maybe one or two guys in the 185+ range, and 3-5 guys in the 180-183 range. In crowded Gangnam streets too I’d feel pretty tall, much taller than average, but never the only tall guy around. One more caveat, a LOT of men lie about their heights, and a LOT of them use insoles. My friend who’s barely 178 barefeet is exactly my height in shoes haha. It’s a running joke between us right now. But he’s not the only one, claims most of his friends do the same. And for dating, I don’t think you’d have any problem if you’re 174+ (173/174) being average. Even the girls who claim to have high height standards succumb to other factors like charm. And most of them are open to date if you’re taller than them. That’s it. Work on your other variables, control the controllables.

"If they're around my height, I don't really see them as a man." Crazy how women can just throw out blanket statements like this criticizing an immutable characteristic... Imagine if a guy made the same statement about a woman's weight despite her being able to fully control it. And the funny thing is, it's almost always very petite women who will impose these standards. Heightism is one of the most socially accepted forms of overt discrimination that goes unchecked, which is mind-blowing because it's essentially genetic prejudice. We collectively frown upon racism as a society, but disparaging someone for being vertically challenged is okay when-just like race-it's completely out of their control? "I don't think it's the food because I ate well when I was little, too." Nutrition does play a role, but genetics are the most important factor (i.e., tall parents tend to have tall kids and vice versa). Growth hormones only work before a person's growth plates are fused. You can inject an adult with as much HGH as you want, but it won't result in any changes to their stature post-puberty. And it's something that requires a doctor's prescription. They are typically only used with children who have a hormonal imbalance. Leg-lengthening surgery is _never_ worth it. The patient is guaranteed to suffer from a lifetime of pain and mobility issues. Unless you think gaining 4" in height is worth spending every waking hour miserable, don't do it.

An interesting research question could be to figure out why height matters to people, and whether that perception can be changed. For example, clearly different nationalities have different average heights, and the differences are sometimes substantial. So what led to different kinds of mate selection in different world regions over the years with respect to height, assuming that the height differences are indeed wholly genetic? And besides, what happens when women prefer to get together only with taller men? Doesn’t that just lead to a situation where everyone is tall? So, after a while, you can’t find a person much taller than anyone else anymore.

The biggest difference I've noticed is how the new generations have grown. First visited Korea in the early '00s. I'm 5' 10" and felt more tallish than average. In the States, I felt more average to shortish. (Except, don't go to the upper Midwest. I felt like a midget visiting Chicago.) The last few times at the airport (2019) I felt pretty average. Lots of dudes were way taller than me as well.

I used to be concerned about my height as well. In school, when we used to be arranged by height for assemblies and stuff, I used to be closer to the front during early high school. But later, I gradually moved to the back, which made me happy. I'm 5'8" and change now and I don't think I'm satisfied with my height but I've learned to accept it. Ideally, I would have liked to be 6'. It also affects where I am. Among family, I'm one of the tallest on both sides. And out on the streets, back home in India, I'm average or above the average. But in the US which is where I am, I'm generally below average. As of height of a partner, I genuinely don't care. As long as she has a nice face and a personality that goes with it, I couldn't care less about anything else.

What she said at 16:19 is so true. Children grow mostly at night in deep sleep when hgh is produced in large quantities. For teens, it's recommended that they get between 8-10 hours, but so many Korean high school kids get only half that because of their insane study habits. So many parents give hgh shots to their kids to offset this and tell them to go study more. Insanity.

Where I come from 180 cm is said to be the border of tall for a guy (170 for a girl). 180 is a number I've seen to describe a tall guy a millions of times because of that. The 180 cm is essentially the 6 foot of the metric system, but actually close to 3 cm shorter. People just love round numbers..

Very rarely, is height a factor for the woman in finding the man that much more attractive in consideration of himself. But it almost always, l like 99% of the time, is based on "how we would look together". The insecurity that goes from "people will think we are siblings", or "people think he can't protect me", or even "people think I'm his mom". Man's height isn't even about him. It's the perception of others. That's what women base it on. The man is a status symbol for their peers. A trophy.

I'm very supporting of things like physical standards such as height for women, because I believe there's no need for a relationship if physical attraction is absent and some women genuinely can't be attracted to someone shorter than them (same with men and tall women btw) Buuuuut I think putting so much strain on a certain height is kinda nonsensical and saying "They aren't men" is going far. What difference does it make if someone is already taller than you? It's as dumb as men saying they can't date someone past a certain age when there isn't a difference or pulling out the "how much do you weight" bit as though the amount of pounds they pull on a scale is more important than the fact that they look attractive anyway

Diversity is good for survival. Smaller creatures have a higher survival rate when resources are scarce. Say that there was some sort of Armageddon, and food became scarce. Bigger creatures require more calories to survive, so are less efficient with energy. So bigger creatures are more likely to die off like the Dinosaurs during such resource stressful times. In times of famine, creatures that require less calories become more sustainable. Continuation of a species is helped by diversity. But when resources are plentiful, bigger is often better. TLDR: just be content as you are, and move with confidence at who/what you are, regardless of size.

Is perfectly normal to have your own preference, but I'm 100% sure, that if some of this guys said, that the woman ended at 50kg, the will be called sexist or misogynist. I can't count how many times I heard from woman, that I should be taller (I'm 174 cm), even from pretty short woman and I never said to any girlfriend, that she should be slimmer. I've datet with women in variety of sizes and all of them was beautiful. My point is, that as a society, we mostly understand that we shouldn't judge people by their size, but we accept that woman can judge men by their heights. And I think it's pretty unfair.

everytime when i see chinese people here in my country they are very small and when i see koreans they are taller than me(183cm). could obviously be a coincidence, but i really think they are one of the taller asian people. or maybe they really wear special shoes to be taller.

Going to China and Korea, I definitely felt that the guys there were very comparable to Americans in terms of height if not taller... Definitely taller than the average guy in the UK/France. Maybe around the same level as Germans or a bit shorter?

Hi Asian Boss I'm a subscriber from Philippines. Te tension between china and Philippines issue is a really high ATM. Many Chinese vessels have already entered the Philippines economic zone and you can also see videos of how Chinese harassed and ruined Philippine navy vessels such as stabbing the Philippines inflatable boat inside the Philippines economic zone. Kindly create a video of how ordinary Chinese people think or reaction about it.
