What’s Buried Under This Hill Has to Be Seen to Be Believed

Ойын-сауық

On this adventure I'm invited to an unassuming stand of trees that's hiding more treasures than I've ever found in one day.

    About 35 years ago I was detecting an old home site on a hilltop. After finding dozens of 1800's coins that could not have been dropped by the family, turns out there was a carnival there at some point.

This is like watching a movie & wondering what's going to happen next ! LOL !! Life & history are so suspenseful & you do it perfectly and professionally . I'm 75 yrs . Old and a Veteran of Vietnam . I have a White metal detector , And have it for years . But I've (never ) found anything but bottle caps & aluminum cans . Keep doing what your doing ( please ) !! Again thank you & GOD BLESS ! Always watching YOU , Kenny ; Ocala , Florida .

    Like many other comments are saying, I would like to think that this location must have been where a trading post, tavern, or even a lodge, maybe all three where located. Such a large variety of treasures for you all to find, especially with the different coins and buttons. It would seem odd for just a single family structure, because they would have been a very careless to have lost so much.

    I would agree on perhaps a tavern….Too drunk to even care about belongings, stumbling out of the place, getting into fistfights ripping each other’s clothes and I can go on and on….Take care! Greetings from Canada 😉👋🏼🇨🇦

    @johnnydoe66

    @McChrister I didn't even consider that with a tavern. Some of the patrons would have been too drunk to care or notice they lost anything. Throw in some fighting it out, money would be lost, and their clothing torn.

    Helllo Brad. Congrats for this nice addition to your collection. Your bucket list coin form New-Jersey is dated from the same year as my house, as engraved on the stone above my main entry door. In 1786, France was still a monarchy under the reign of Louis the 16th (beheaded in 1793) represented on the french coin found by one of your hosts. Through my house, this long past history is not so far away from me.

    There must have been some kind of annual fair or farmers markets where many people gathered because the coins are from different times and there are so many! That first song sounded new ! Nice catchy tune !

    Were it just the buttons and a few coins, I'd guess a homestead that had burned down. Given the clay soil, most iron/nails would've long rusted away.

    I would guess a gathering place of some kind. Maybe church or place for events. People wore buttons all over their clothes back then. So they fell off alot.

    Here in the middle of Michigan if you see a hill like that in the middle of a field or in the woods it is very often an Indian burial mound. There is a farm nearby with a big mound in the middle of the field and the kids in this area used to go out there right after the farmer plowed looking for arrow heads that had been unearthed.

    I live in South Texas and there is not much history around here except cactus and mesquite. I have always enjoyed watching your videos Brad, they get your attention. I sit here and watch with awe as you pull coin after coin from the 1700's and 1800's!! Amazing finds and artifacts, just shaking my head saying WOW!! I have been detecting for close to 40 yrs and have never found a land coin in the 1700's, I have found a Spanish old world Silver 8 Reales COB couldn't verify date but pre 1621. Philip II or III, but never an old land coin under 1800. Good hunt day for you guys, nice honey hole!! In my opinion it looks like a stage stop or tavern was there, I have detected stage stops down here and lots of early 1800's coins and buttons. Excellent Brad, take care and see you on the next hunt

    Great finds. I look forward to seeing your channel each week. Great content excellent music and camera work. From finds to nature even the results of mother nature you do a great job and the speculation of what happened in each area makes your vids worth seeing each week. Is it possible that this area was a Tavern or roadside coach stop. To find such a variety of items seems that their were travelers in the area. In my area their was a coach stop that is no longer attainable as it is now owned by a quarry company but many such finds like what you had found were at this site. Congrats on your finds and keep the vids coming.
