What's behind the 3 AM police call night of Idaho murders? | Banfield

Many have questioned how a killer got into the home where the four University of Idaho murder victims were found. Brian Entin shows what the orientation of the house looks like and how someone might have been able to enter. Host of Idaho Matters Gemma Gaudette also weighs in.

    Please note that there was a very heavy fog during the night there. The area of the houses and apartment buildings on the cul-de-sac is (was) nearly pitch black routinely-enough so that folks walking dogs were used to using headlamps for the walks. Fog would be of extra value to person(s) slipping through the area.

    The large apartment building behind the house and especially the above parking lot are key! A perfect spot to watch the house and see everything going on. There was footage on KZread from a neighbor at night showing that u can see directly into the upstairs bedrooms! Crazy. The killer easily entered through the back slider once he saw all lights out.

    I thought this, too. It's pretty common to tell someone you're leaving, then get caught up talking to someone/going to the bathroom/etc for 10-30 minutes, especially if people are drinking. I wouldn't think anything of this. In my drinking days, I would constantly get caught up talking to people I saw on my way out, waiting for the other person I came with or getting distracted by something. And I know my friends would do the same thing. I also couldn't tell you exactly what I was doing at certain times during the night or tell you exactly what time I got home. Even if I wasn't drinking. Most people don't pay attention to time that closely.

The whole thing is so tragic. I just wished there had been CCTV on their home although I understand how you have to stretch a student budget. I find it odd that people think it's suspicious when someone doesn't get home right away or they can't recall what time they did something, or even what they were doing on a certain day. And I agree that all schools and universities should have better surveillance to protect these kids. So many unnecessary tragedies and crimes that remain unsolved. Even a cheap Ring-like doorbell would be sufficient and you know that the schools have the budget for that. Protecting these students should be a bigger priority. Obviously it's not the university's fault but I hope more schools start to take the initiative. I just can't imagine how the friends and families are processing a loss like this.

    We’re their house lights on outside the day the murders happened? It looks pretty bright. How or why would a murderer enter with so much lighting and if there was an offense happening at 3 am a few feet away and a frat house presumbly still with people…wouldn’t they be scared of getting caught? This makes even less sense now

    My goodness that is SO close! If only one of those homes/buildings on the side while walking up the stairs had a ring camera. Could match up times, and possibly see a suspect. Didn't one report say the Frat house has cameras outside? I wonder if it's pointing in the direction across the street where Brian is, and possibly picked up something. Those nearly 5hrs of Ethan and Xana missing could be key.

    Yes, it has cameras on one side of the building and that is how they know who arrived to the house in the morning after the intentional and vague 911 call but they are not cameras around the entire house and that is why the cop started a believing somebody slipped through the back door but it's all speculation... The only thing they know is that four people were killed, two survived and were probably misleading, intentionally vague and appears as if they were on scene of the crime doing who knows what and for who knows how long. The rest is speculation and pleading to the public for help

    The only interested tid bit to come out of this is the proximity of the frat to the house (by extension, the other landmarks the four were known to have been at earlier in the night). They're way closer to the house than maps give the impression of - gives rise to the notion that whomever did kill them, could have been keeping tabs on the primary target vs simply stalking the house. Not much of a stretch to believe that someone could have waited for said target to leave an area, assuming that due to the time of night it was probably a last stop before heading home, then made their way with it maybe being 5-10 minutes tops to get there.

    This is all we need to know: Xana’s Mother owns the house. Xana’s mother was arrested in Arizona for trafficking 700,000 Fentanyl pills into the country. The largest fentanyl bust in AZ history. ~$10,000,000 street value. This was two days before the murders. She then skipped her court date after they let her out on a $50K bond. She was again arrested via warrant for failure to appear. She is in custody. The only reason fentanyl comes across the southern border is bc of the Cartel. Period. So, the idea that this was a professional hit is actually one of the most plausible theories to date. What’s strange is that no major media outlet has even mentioned the story, even though there are irrefutable facts that are available to the public.

Meanwhile, cops are just FEET AWAY literally. A 5 second walk . All while this is happening and while the killer runs free but they wanna ask everyone for any footage from 3-6am that night when they were standing RIGHT THERE. Let’s also not forget that Kaylees last call to Jack was at 252am . Police were called at Band Field at 3:01am. Maybe it was used as a tactic by someone who knew the killer was going to do something really bad so they called the cops about a “alcohol related incident” hoping that by the time they got there, they would catch this guy. Criminals make a point to look at patterns of behavior, and then leverage that info to their advantage. Most people are so caught up in their own patterns that they overlook the outlying behavior and patterns of others. Hence, important "facts" get missed.

    One thing that is so baffling from the two survived roommates is that they did not call 911 they had their friends come over to call 911 that makes no sense at all and they claim that one passed out I mean if those are your friends you'd be picking up that phone in frantic dialing 911 or running out of the house screaming from that horror mayhem scene

  • @kisiekat

    @kisiekat

    Thata not exactly what happened. I thought the same way how odd that was but there is someone who did a video explaining this and it makes so much sense. The other 2 slept late and when they went upstairs to the kitchen they seen the door was open and seen Ethan in the door way of his room I believe, said his injuries were devastating, and they completely lost it and went running outside. One of the girls did dial 911 but she was so distraught and in shock she passed out. Random people walking on the street actually took her phone and talked to 911 operators. That is why the call was about a "unconscious person" the other girl was screaming and so panicked she couldn't even explain how bad what it was she saw and the people from the street went in the house...they apparently knew Ethan brothers and close friends so someone of them called over to the frat house and his brother came over and other people went inside too. This is also why they are saying so much of the scene was compromised due to people rushing in. Even EMS got there not knowing what they were walking into. This makes so much sense as to the call and information around that. Just goes to show how much we all really don't know specific details. Even assuming why did they have a friend call. I said the exact same thing!! Not even realizing there is a whole situation around it and how so many things we just don't know where we wonder why can't they just tell us who did it. Its far more complex then just basic police work. Imagine how many people go in this type of house. I am so ready for them to figure it out but this showed me gotta wait for them to work through all this stuff. Cannot even imagine how much information they are fielding. Such a terrible situation.

    Could it be that the perp(s) entered through an upstairs balcony? Were they found locked or unlocked? -Also, it seems that if someone is in bed like that, under the usual sheet, blanket, & spread, the typical blood splattering on walls & ceiling wouldn’t occur when an artery is sliced. -If a victim is smothered with their own pillow while being attacked, would that muffle their screaming? Or, perhaps an ether ladened hanky was used? -Any maintenance done on that residence lately? (Someone casing the place) Maniac(s) on the loose!

    If you guys watch the video of the food truck, there’s a moment when they crossed paths, he’s attitude towards her wasn’t the most friendly and the look that he gives her 🤔 once they were about to leave the food truck and he noticed it, he started walking to the left trying to make it look he was going with the other dude, all of the sudden he makes a sharp right going towards the car that picked the girls up and I think he went inside that car and got in the house with them and the rest is history. I think the cops knows that, but they haven’t been able to get enough hard evidence to prove it. They won’t find anything out of the ordinary in the house or in the community for that matter, no clues, no videos, nothing because his dna it’s all over that house as is supposed to. But I’m not a cop, let’s see what happens
