It's more than just a lust for money, it feeds their massive egos, it's a huge lack of understanding of how people struggle they expect people to be flawless and not be struggling with various issues because they themselves have never struggled with these problems firsthand. It's also a sense of entitlement because they maintain they represent God so they are not to be questioned. I've met them watched them listened to them and been wounded by them I would never be under any man again or woman for that matter!

The reason you don't agree with those people's twisted understanding of that verse is cause peter was telling Christians that are in the workplace to obey their supervisors or bosses. The same thing we see in ephesians 6,Colossians 4 and in 1 Timothy 6. Christians that are in the workplace are to obey their supervisors as unto The Lord. Now of course when or if they tell you to sin against Jesus and His Word,that is when you disobey them.

The same thing goes for government officials,obey the laws of the land. But when the laws of the land goes against the laws of God,you disobey those laws.
