What's an Orlando Jeep Club trail ride like? Bull Creek WMA

What’s it like to take a trail ride with the Orlando Jeep Club?
Today the club took a ride out to Herky Huffman/Bull Creek Wildlife Management Area. Down 192 towards Melbourne. 23,636 acres of land that was once home to the logging industry. Maintained roads make for a nice and easy loop and most could easily be done by car. The ride is scenic and will offer ample opportunities to take some nice photos.
In January - Mid March its small game season, that means additional trails are open as well. Trail 3 on the south end is easily one of the best in the area. Here a Jeep is a good idea. The water was only around 20 inches but the feel was straight out of Jurassic park.
Riding with TOJC means you will have a knowledgeable guide to lead the trail and a tail gunner to make sure no one is left behind. There will be people who love Jeepin' just like you. It’s a great opportunity to bounce ideas off of others and talk about upgrades. If you’re new to the whole Jeepin' thing it’s a great way to meet new friends and trail with old ones.
The Jeep club is trail and family friendly. We are not about tearing your Jeep or the environment up. We hope you will come a visit one of the meet and greets listed on the website and then join us for a ride. Till next time - Enjoy the trails.

    Most of the trails are closed off unless its small game season. The main loop is pretty well maintained now. I remember back in the early 90s when it was mud hole after mud hole.

    I'm looking to purchase a 4 door Wrangler. What size tires do you guys suggest for Florida riding? I live over on the right coast just below Melbourne. One more question: You mentioned CB radio. I was thinking of getting a HAM radio. I'm studying now. Why did you guys choose CB? Thank you in advance

  • @FloridaJeepRides

    @FloridaJeepRides

    Tire size depends on how much you want to spend. I have put 33s to start off they fit with no lift and not too much rubbing. 35s may need re gearing to give you your power back. 37s are the new 35s - Me if I hade the money I would go with lower gears- lockers - and a proper lift. Jeeper's Den is always helpful in making a build. The club is using CBs as a main form of communication. Handhelds work great for spotters and smaller groups. There are several members who have shortwave gear. The leader of this trail does.

    Possibly I have seen one at least twice down on the Southern part of Three lakes. It's a very rare thing to see because they tend to be secretive. They are always way down the road but can be identified by the saggy chest and large tail. They walk different from deer, pigs, and cows. I have never gotten any good footage, but some day. Then the possibly can become a 'I Have" - Tigher bay has had a sighting as well. public.myfwc.com/hsc/panthersightings/Home/Locations

    Most are in the central Florida area. Unless we are on a jeep vacation trip. Next week we are heading to Utah and Nevada. The Bull creek ride is a easy ride but sadly most of the year the creek crossing trails are closed. It’s only during small game season that the best trails open up out there. Jan and Feb.
