🦞 Capt. Pau's Lobster Slider recipe is below
ℹ️ About the Episode:
This season has been especially community-focused, and we love sharing new people and personalities in these episodes. Almost every episode includes a local or someone from the community adding something special. We're beyond grateful for Captain Paul, who shared a glimpse into his life as a lobster fisherman for over 50 years. In this episode, we caught over 500 pounds of lobster (yes, you read that right!) by hauling and replacing 275 traps. Paul was generous enough to share a few from his catch for Trish to cook. We listened carefully to Paul's advice on how to cook it, and Trish made a refreshing lobster roll recipe that we named Captain Paul's Lobster Sliders. We then made our way to the home of KYD Insiders Michael and Amanda to pick fresh ingredients from their garden and celebrate the 4th of July.
🦞 Capt. Paul's Lobster Sliders
1 and 1/2 cup of chopped lobster, 1/3 cup of mayo, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, Zest of one lemon, 1 tablespoon of reduced white balsamic vinegar (sweet), 1 cup diced cucumber, 1/2 tablespoon chopped fresh dill or use tarragon and chives, 1/4 of a cup of dice English cucumbers

Eastern Canada is truly a beautiful place !!!! Full of fantastic people too. I've never met a person from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI or Newfoundland i didn't like. Truly salt of the earth people, living in a beautiful part of the country !!!! Enjoy Canada guys its a joy to know you are here having fun !!!!!
Captain Paul is such a treasure. Almost needed subtitles to understand him. I loved his personality. Great video !!
This was so fun!! I loved listening to Paul’s accent 😍. Also may I say, the musical choices in this episode were just splendid and so well suited to their moments… such a lovely flow ✨💛✨

Thank you to eveyone involved in this episode. I live in BC and i am so happy to see a glimpse at the other side of the country. I really love that you enjoyed the experience for me. 😊
This family you met in Halifax and filled while you where enjoying the lobster fishing will cherish this video forever. As well as you . Amazing video.
I could listen to Captain Paul. I love seeing how mature and interested Caleb has become. Y’all are so good. Thanks for another great video.
I hauled 80 ton of lobster from Halifax to Chongqing China recently and I have a new appreciation of how hard all those fishermen worked to get that much Lobster.

Hard work! I was wondering if everyone gets paid well because of the prices those lobster get on the retail end. Hope the fishermen get paid well.
Loved hearing a ‘down home’ accent again. Left Cape Breton (North Sydney) many, many years ago and felt my best times were spent with my family at our cabin on the Bras d’Or Lake. Thank you guys for the wonderful visit down home again!
This segment should be submitted for an award somewhere. The filming, the flow. This one is unforgettable!
"There is no reason to be up this early, unless you are doing something great." Amen, Sister!
Touring Cape Breton now and in North Sydney awaiting the ferry to Newfoundland. Thanks to Captain Paul. You make Canada proud.
So heartwarming watching Charlie and Caleb swimming. Never have seen lobster fishing before so very interesting and think Caleb got into it. Trish great job at cooking the lobster as well as fixing the amazing sliders. Loving every minute of this season. Thank you so much. Hugs to Charlie and Love y'all.

I was impressed. It's not easy if one is squeamish.
Been a subscriber and fan for many years! When i saw this season was based in the East Coast of Canada i was excited to see the content. It certainly has not disappointed. Definetly proud to be from Atlantic Canada (New Brunswick) when watching theae episodes.
Tell Caleb to follow Sailing La Vagabonde n especially Back 2 Basics for a real adventure of catching fish n crustaceans. I think it would really b a joy. Love your boy so much from your adventures. Truly smart, truly himself, social, adventurous and it has been a pleasure watching them grow. Can’t wait to see what Caleb inspires himself to get into next. Kudos to his great parents. A long time fan from Williamsburg Va.

We've followed SLV from the start. Thanks for your comments. He's headed to VA for school next month. I'm sure we'll be out there often then. Much to do and see in your beautiful state.
I am so glad you guys had the opportunity to experience this with an actual Lobster fisherman. I am from Nova Scotia and my uncle is a Lobster Fisherman in Cheticamp Nova Scotia right at the base of the Cabot Trail. We are lucky enough to have fresh lobster when the craving arises. I am also glad you are getting to experience the hospitality that the East Coast is well known for. Great video and love your content. Keep enjoying all these adventures and sites that Nova Scotia has to offer.
As a musician, I always enjoy the way you pair songs to the visuals as the story unfolds. Your soundtracks are always delicious, particularly so here. Very fine video all the way around! 🙂

Thanks. For KYD Specials, I go into my saved list to get just the right tracks.
I loved this episode. We are lucky enough to live on Maryland's lower Eastern Shore and see crap potters out on a daily basis during season. It's amazing to hear them talk. They have their own language. They are always so grounded in life and appreciate the Chesapeake Bay for it's beauty and it's bounty. We love the fresh seafood our Eastern Shore provides and all of the fresh farm produce. Including our farm. Thank you for this episode, we truly enjoyed it!
What a great episode. So beautiful on the boat. I am very thankful for Capt Paul sharing his process. It is great to see a working boat and the process onshore that helps too. That slider looks amazing.
This might be one of my favorites, that guy knows what the heck he's doing. What a cool experience.
"there's no reason to be up this early, unless you're doing something great. so this morning, we''re doing something great" ..... I can see that line being used in the next Mission Impossible movie
I gotta tell ya.....it's gonna be hard to beat this OUTSTANDING presentation !!! Seriously .
We so love the Maritimes of Canada! It’s our “happy place”. Heading there in a few days then to Newfoundland. Can’t wait!
Captain Paul seemed like such a sweetheart and loved his accent
She sure knows her way around a kitchen! She’s so awesome! Overall, great video!
I think this is the best production quality video you have ever done! CAPT Paul was great to watch! Great work.
Cheers from Ottawa! I believe I passed on the Queensway ( 417 ) in Ottawa! Pretty cool seeing the rig! Enjoy it while you’re here! Hope you’re checking out Algonquin park!
So happy you got to meet Capt Paul and go lobster fishing. Our lobster fishing friends from Escuminac, New Brunswick took us out to his boat and showed us "the ropes" including measuring and storing the lobster. They sure work hard long hours, dont they? We missed you guys by a week! Loved the aerial shots and the gorgeous herb garden!!
Joy. That one word just sums this one up perfectly!
Wow! Paul is the REAL DEAL! But we needed a translator. 😂 One of your best shows. My mouth was watering. Thanks!
I could listen to that sailer all day!
It’s like listening to my Grammy tell me how to cook lobster ! Great video !
Tim Hortons! You are honorary Canadians now!
Always enjoy each weekly episode but especially grateful for this one especially! My grandmother and members of her family (who made their living fishing) emigrated to the US from North Sydney, NS in the early 20th century. It's been our long-time dream to travel there to experience the places of our ancestors and the overall beauty of NS. It remains a bucket list trip. Thank you so much for the entire episode! Cannot wait to try the sliders!
Candian easterners so kind and gentle people the best !
Love your show and your entire channel. You have inspired my wife and I to become explorers of this great land. We just came back from a 2000mile RV trip and decided to buy an upgraded rig because we loved it so much. Thanks for being our mentors and guides in this remarkable life. Travel well. Nova Scotia is a wonderland!

Such a great video, from Paul and the lobster boat to making the sliders, it's great to see how the community has opened up to you on your visit. You are doing Canada proud with your videography and 'narration' of our east coast. It makes us proud Canadians to see a family open their home and fly your country flag on such and important day. Keep safe and we can't wait to see you again next week.
I so enjoyed this wonderful episode. My favorite parts were Caleb & Charlie swimming, and the garden & food prep from Trish. Good Vibrations!
Probably one of my MOST favorite episodes ever. What a cool adventure!!!
thanks for allowing us to tag along. those lobsters made my mouth water.
That’s what I call “catch to table” 💪
Hey, Trish! I have that hat. :) And now you can have Captain Paul's Sliders! I love that she had the herbs. I want a beautiful herb garden like that. Great video guys!
What an honorable life fishing in the Nova Scotia Area as a family business! Looking for Northern Atlantic Lobster! Which we love so well! Thank you all for the venture! Keep Charlie on the boat!
Lobstering is not for the lazy or any one that wants to sleep in. That is a long day and hopefully a rewarding day. Caleb will be the next Captain of the boat cause i know he entertained and asked all kind of questions.
What a fascinating and interesting video with Captain Paul. Kudos to all the hardworking fishermen out there. Trish’s lobster sliders looked delicious and very sweet of Michael and Amanda to host all of you.

We were thrilled to have them, Amanda & I learned so much from their early KYD instructional videos (Ginger V1) when we started RVing that we felt like we owed them. We've been watching them for so long that they feel like family. Happy to have shared some Maritime hospitality with them.
I was so excited to see the lobster harvest!! To be there watching the captain and crew work those pots and harvest those beautiful lobsters must have been a blast! The Lobsters the captain gave you were huge. My mouth was watering at those yummy sliders. This was a fantastic video..thanks so much
Another great video. Enjoy the rest of your trip.
Loved the episode. Took me a minute to place the train tracks in the opening scene…not far from Bras D’or. Couldn’t help but spot you at Tim Hortons the morning of the fishing trip. Could see the A&K Lick a Chick in the background too! A classic Cape Breton roadside stop! Thoroughly enjoyed the episode! Bravo!
I love this video, it’s absolutely beautiful. It was a pleasure to have Marc, Trish, Caleb and Charlie. Please come again you guys are super down to earth and lovely people. Cheers

Going to Tim Horton's in the wee hours...you are becoming more Canadian every day you are here
forgot to mention I purchased the level mate pro and love it!!! thanks for the tips that make our travel better!
If you aren't in PEI yet then try and spend a few nights at the Cumberland Cove Campground right on the water facing Nova Scotia. It's where we camp each year and my wife walks out at low tide to dig clams and hunt for Oysters. Place is a Postcard perfect setting.
I'm from BC and in 1981 I had the privilege of going out on the first day of lobster fishing in glace Bay may 30 th I think 1981 I was 17 I still remember like it was yesterday
Wow! Wow!Wow! We have lived on the Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia all our lives and we are learning new things about our beautiful Province! We look forward to each and every episode! We Love Nova Scotia Lobster! It is the best, It Looks like you had so much fun on that boat! Eeek, Very early mornings, we have a new found respect for lobster fisherman. Enjoy the remainder of your Eastern Canada journey. We have been following your channel since your very first travel trailer when all three of your children were travelling with you! We are seasonal campers but will likely never be “full timers”. Although someday we hope to tow our Grand Design Imagine to the U.S. and escape our cold wet winter. Donna & Larry Gibbons
That on boat footage and editing is going to tick off the Deadliest Catch and it's network because it was everybit as good !!! Well done!
The Galloping gormet! Brings me back. Love tge video!
I learned everything I know about RVing from you guys, and I’m from Sydney NS :) We live in Ontario and we drive home every summer. In 2020 we got a dog who didn’t like driving and decided it was time to get an RV for the trip. It was our life long goal to get an RV and a summer home in Cape Breton! We accomplished that goal and now we drive home to our summer home in the lobster fishing village of Gabarus NS in our Class C Jayco Greyhawk 30Z. We are just getting prepped now for the trip, and I booted up your channel to find you’re traveling to Cape Breton! Amazing!
I haven’t even watched this whole video . But I love it already . I truly hope your coming to PEI . I’ll be heading out on Friday !!! Getting excited

Great job KYD, enjoyed watching. I must share with you we went last week to the RV Hall of Fame and saw Gary, Charley and KYD Bird!!!! Amazing
That was a great adventure on the lobster boat. Those guys worked so hard and I really don’t think people appreciate the skill and the labor that goes into bringing up that delicate white meat. Thomyt
