She is so self serving. She thinks she is so important that she should never need to do anything that she finds boring. It doesn't occur to her that she might be foung to be not only boring but embarrassingly so. Her complete lack of any feeling for the comfort or pride of anyone but herself is a sickness of character. There is no sublety about the way she shows her complete lack of concern for the needs of anyone. Her sick brain tells her she can do, say, or take anything she wants

It wasn't that she didn't understand, it's that she didn't care. Even though she said she was never told what Royal duties were, we know that's a lie as they always explain that to anyone who is married into the royal family. She just thought she could do what she wanted. She knew very well it was wrong to leave. I think that she thought everyone would secretly admire her for leaving what she considered to be a boring party. As usual, she misread the crowd. And as for being a celebrity, she never was a celebrity before she married Harry. She was an actress in a show. And I can tell you as an American that she wasn't very well known at all. That was it.

I can give a bit of confirmation about royal events, as it were. My father-in-law had served as treasurer for the Battersea Dogs Home from its start, and was to attend an event and meet the Queen. Sadly, in the months between the invitation and the event, my father-in-law suddenly passed away (embolism). Anyway, the palace was informed, so my mother-in-law was told she could bring a relative or other companion, so long as they were informed as soon as possible (so they could vet the person). My mother-in-law chose my husband, informed them, and on the day, my mother-in-law and husband took a taxi to the event. The Queen spoke to each of them, and referred to the work my father-in-law had done for the Dogs Home and other work he'd done. Moreover, she mentioned charitable work my mother-in-law had done, and talked about my husband's time with Young Farmers and as a glider pilot. She did this with everyone at that event, without any prompting from an aide or checking notes, just being incredibly gracious and thanking the people there for their service.

The odd thing about it is Meghan Markle was never a part of Hollywood. She was a ‘not lead character’ of a third rate cable show. She wouldn’t have been accustomed to make an appearance and leave. I think in her wee little mind, she imagined herself to be ‘Hollyweird’ important. A vast (very vast) majority of Americans either roll their eyes at Hollywood antics or pay no attention. They are important in their own minds.

After the dreadful interview, a few people were asked by one of the US networks what they thought of Meghan Markle's treatment by the Royal Famlly or 'the racism she suffered' - no 'alleged'. One interviewee was Michelle Obama who said 'Public service is a bright shining light and most people don't understand it. I always try and throw the light out to others who are doing good work'. Tom Bower said that the duchess underestimated the friendship between the Obamas and Queen Elizabeth and that's why she cannot make progress; she overestimates herself.

At the Birthday Garden Party, footage showed H giving praise to his father in a speech and then exclaiming mid sentence that he had been stung on the ear by a bee. The camera cuts to M laughing/mocking Harry. Her undignified, immature, silly response to H's real pain gives even more credence to an attendee's report that the couple was high and reeked of alcohol and cannibis. It is probable that the couple's cumulative bad behavior at the Garden Party caused Charles to pull the plug on them and had them escorted out.

Harry's wife was never cut out for royal life, but I don't think we can necessarily blame it on her life as an actress. Princess Grace was beloved in Monaco after she proved to the citizens that she cared about them and their well-being. She reluctantly gave up her career in Hollywood and a chance to star once more in an Alfred Hitchcock movie, Marnie, once she realized how that choice would upset the people of Monaco. I think Princess Grace's strong family upbringing contributed to her sense of decency and duty to her adopted country. Whenever I think of American royalty, my thoughts always turn to Princess Grace, and I am proud to call her a fellow American and Philadelphian.

I wondered about that also. However, watching the news video of what happened, M was lapping up the attention of guests and seemed thrilled to be the center of attention. It appeared that Charles’s aid reluctantly pulled Harry away from M, said something like “your father wants to speak to you”. H took a few awkward steps toward Charles (stepping sideways, really odd), where Charles whispered in his ear for a brief moment and then Camilla walked over and said goodbye to H&M. H&M looked confused, bewildered and embarrassed. Charles’ aid gestured toward the door (as if to say “now”), and physically escorted them out. It appeared to me that your account of M wanting to leave may have occurred but the video of the incident suggested they were taken off guard by what happened and was embarrassed. I suspect M made several social blunders earlier, perhaps Camilla said something to her like “we don’t laugh while others are making speeches” and M got offended that she was scolded and then said “ let’s get out of her”. One can see the tension between Camilla and Meghan during Harry’s speech. M stuck out her tongue and laughed during the speech and Camilla glanced over and saw that. The news video is available if one looks for it. There’s possibly more to the story…

Imagine all of the interesting people you would meet at an even such as this. She had no sense of how important it was to these people to be recognized for their good works, and they came there with respect for her and feeling happy that they would be recognized by her and Harry for their philanthropic works. I would take that job all day long, to have an opportunity to meet people who work so hard in their communities, even if I wasn't recognized by them as someone special. People like that are always wonderful to speak to. They have a lot to share with their world. How sad for Meghan that she does not respect other people, or feel it is important to share any efforts or talent in regards to really assisting people.

She finally turned around but was mad! Then the garden party where she said she was bored and wanted to leave but Harry said they had to stay. After that she pulled her, “I’m going to unalive myself and our baby” act and from then on she’s had Harry by the ⚽️ 🏀. I think in the beginning he was in charge and thought she’d learn. But she wasn’t going to allow herself to be told what to do so she threatened to unalive herself and the baby and he’s been running scared ever since.

You have to think of the situation logically. There are normally 4 to 6 royals at a garden party to do meet and greet. Very good point about an often ignored hint of Meghan’s poor upbringing. I have commented that Meghan was not prepared for a role in the royal family because she was brought up with a deadly combination: spoiled rotten by her father and given absolutely no social instruction. The elements that would constitute a good upbringing in an upper middle class family would include: being familiar with formal dinners and table settings, knowing how to issue and answer invitations, understanding the role of both the hostess and the guest, learning how to meet people and put them at ease (in other words, not thinking of yourself), knowing what clothes are appropriate at different times of the day. Very soon after coming into the family Meghan demonstrated that she did not have any of this preparation, nor did she have the humility to be corrected. The garden party is an excellent example. It’s nit really a case of celebrity culture versus the royal culture, it’s only evidence of Meghan’s lack of social graces in her upbringing.

To me it would have been the hight of bad manners to leave before the guest of honour, unless of course there was some very good reason. Meghan has been very audible on many occasions, showing her boredom and commenting, “why are we here, this is so silly”. She never woke up to the fact of what you said. They are there to thank people for their contributions to various charities, volunteer work etc. not the other way around.

@@SharonCurtis7 Yes of course you are correct there, absolutely! My only point in making the distinction about the upper middle class upbringing is that it affords the social training needed for the many social obligations of the royal family, without that training one would need humility to admit her ignorance. It was a window into her arrogance. Yes, you are correct that the majority of Americans of any social class would not have behaved so badly.

I think there is one particular trait that Diana had that was so attractive. You would see her with people and she was really engaged. She might have dressed to the nines, but when she met people she seemed to care for them and emphasized with them. Journalists who observed her when the cameras were not around stated that this was not an act. She was just as engaging when there was no one to see. In fact, she often took part in secret visits to hospitals and the homeless. I think her troubled childhood helped her understand the suffering of others. In addition, her schooling include performing good works. She continued that into adulthood.

She is someone who needs to be top dog when it comes to machinating and scheming; she’s then in control. He needs to be with someone who will take the lead because he’s clueless. The royal family (the institution) protected Harry, shielding him from exposing his inadequacies. It seems to me that Meghan rather enjoys humiliating him by proxy. @@elspethcoogan1499 Harry is not just clueless. He boasted of killing 25 Afghan civilians in THEIR land where, whether we agree with all their traditions or not, they were fighting for self-determination. In the face of protests from other players, he rode a pregnant mare so ruthlessly hard in a polo match that she collapsed and died once off the field. Queen Elizabeth criticized him for spurring another polo pony so hard it's sides dripped blood from gashes. His book was full of vicious, petty bile, and he has lied himself and abetted MM in all her stories. She just gave him the confidence and backup he needed to try to be what he has clearly long wanted to be--a king equal to or surpassing his brother in stature. The RF bears some responsibility, if any of the picture in Spare is true. Some sources say that William can be impatient and controlling, even with his wife, and that he pretty much dominated Harry, who put up with it for lack of a vision or encouragement to pursue it. Many attributes of some Roysls are admirable, but they are an uneven bunch and, seeing that their net worth is over 100 billion, I read recently, I'm not sure that I credit only their superior sense of service and morality for their supportive public services. The French Revolution taught them all something....

For a woman like Megnut to have an opportunity to be a part of and a representative of the RF in the Monarchy is a miracle in itself!! Along with that came the opportunity of being known throughout the world, having respect among world leaders , traveling the world over and enhancing programs and charities that aided millions of people worldwide, to dress well, live in luxury, vacation in resorts everywhere, to become popular among millions of people the RF serve, and to be a senior member of a very select, small family form!! Yet this was not enough for a woman who thought she should be first in every scene of life, that she should be given more money than anyone could spend in several lifetimes, and felt she should have to follow no rules or traditions, not have to put out any effort to be catered to and bowed to by all !! Blessings like this rarely occur at all. When you throw them away and whine and cry for more you find yourself on skid row begging for a kind word from anyone willing to speak to you!!! THAT is what I call idiotic and insane behavior!
