DECEPTIVE, glad I read the comments, first. Clickbait alert!

Chip was the real estate agent that sold the houses. Making money there, which is ok. Got paid for each show. Great they earned it. But, Chip did not do all the work himself, he had his crew did it, with him checking in time to time. Viewers thought the furnishings came with the house, it doesn't. Programs like this is part of the reason the price of homes have sky rocketed. Check back, 10 to 15 years, you will see the home decorating and refurbishing programs have added gusto to real estate prices. Perhaps even longer back, Trading Spaces etc.

The most interesting part of this video is the ad that popped up about Always nighttime protection pads.

Chip , and Joanne gave a new atmosphere to Waco. Till then, it was known for the David Koresh shoot out.

80% of the homes are now being used for an Air B n B. The other homes were sold for a lot more than their original value.

When the show started if I had won the lottery big I would have moved that way to get a house for Chip n Jo to fix up my dreams 😊

Fixer Upper = take out a wall, paint all the brick and woodwork, add shiplap. And done.

They had to gut some houses. Also, there is more to it than that, choosing cabinetry, in the kitchen and bathrooms, sinks/faucets, and etc., flooring, roof, shall I go on?

I know thatTX has more lenient codes than many other states. But the fact that a carpenter ( Chip) was doing plumbing and electrical always made me very uncomfortable.

Mine could too. but as a Professional Engineer, who taught code classes, he would never do it any place else. It is against code ( in the state we lived in) and if anything happened, the insurance company would not pay out. When the property was to be sold, the bank should not take the loan ( that is why no one tells them) if a house is worked on by someone not licensed and it would not be underwritten

Don't see why you were uncomfortable that Chip did all, have a friend that is license for plumbing and electrical, he is not a carpenter by profession but is very good at what he does, so good that he is another Chip.

Absolute clickbait!!!! This is nothing but an advertisement! The reality is MANY of the homeowners on this show have sued HGTV, the production company, general contractors, and crew because of shoddy unfinished work. CHIP does very little actual construction.... only when the camera is rolling! The entire premise is heavily produced and scripted!!

The video states what happened to many of the houses!! Very interesting…some owners still live in their home. Some sold numerous times. Many used as AirBNB! Watch to the end.

Yes, much different than the millions of people without building skills watched these flip shows thinking they could do it. The new owners move into them and the shoddy work starts showing up and things start falling apart.

REALLY WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO ACTUALLY SHOW EACH HOUSE YOU DESCRIBED INSTEAD OF RANDOM HOMES - THEY DID ONE AFTER ANOTHER.... THE MINTY GREEN HOUSE FOR EXAMPLE WAS NOT THE 1 & 1/2 STORT HUNTER GREEN HOME THAT YOU SHOWED .. SHAME SHAME

The shot gun house has a new chapter. Whether it's the original owner but there are 3 new homes beside it by one/same guy and they're all different and rentals. Each unique

The heading for this video is very misleading, I expected for something to have gone wrong to the homes down the line but, if anything it was the opposite.

I dont see the clickbait in the title. The video showed "what really happened..." I think people decided to assume it was negative. Either way, every news story, movie, essay, or video needs a hook. The hook worked. Y'all chose to make the hook a negative. I figured he meant what he said. "What really happened..."

Just shows how greedy everyone actually is!! It’s exactly why I stopped watching their fake show!! It’s all staged, none of it is for real people to live in. It’s all about making money, by either selling the house (for way more than it’s worth) or taking away a family home and making it an Airbnb. So no I will never support this couple again. And it actually breaks my heart to say this!!

I live in Waco Chip and Joanna have caused LOT OF PROBLEMS, I live by some of the houses from the show they are a joke.
