Ya know, I always thought the downfall of Russ started when he became Mr. Triple Double. I don't even mean taking rebounds away from Centers, him getting boards meant the pace getting pushed, I mean inflated assist numbers. He was a scorer at his best, early on in his career it was understood he wasn't the guy who should average 10 assists, that's not what he was good at. He's not a great passer and he makes a lot of turnovers, not to mention making guys just stand in the corner and tossing grenades to them. Houston was some of the best ball he played. People forget he was injured in the playoffs and D'Antoni's extreme small ball experiment didn't help that team none

@@jamespuso1627 Ya. He's not going to lead you to a championship as the no.1 option. But every era there are only 4-5 people that can. Previous era was James, Curry, KD, Kawhi, before that Kobe, Duncan, Shaq, Dirk, etc etc. Out of these 4-5 people he and Harden were the greatest players of their era and probably the best 2nd options of that era.

I think the Brodie on the Clippers was a really good move on their part. Even though they got eliminated in the quarterfinals, I like what I saw from Russ for the most part. He wasn’t too wild & out of control trying to drive to the paint just to turn it over. Shot the ball good for his standards. I think we saw just about the best ball Russ has left to play in him during that playoff run this past season. Almost reminded me of early OKC Russ.

The worst decision after their championship season was moving Harden. Imagine how dominant Thunder would have been for that next decade with their very own homebuilt big-three. It was the key to success for so many contemporary teams of that time, think Spurs, Heat, Warriors, Celtics, and Lebron's second run with the Cavs.

It's crazy how people interpret facts and fill gaps with opinions to fill their narratives. This is so lame. Man is top 75, got injured and ill in Houston still made it out 1st round, is the wizards triple double leader in one season whilst single handedly carrying them to the play offs. He's still averaging great numbers and has a lot more in the tank especially as he hasn't been the primary option on his team for over 3 years. Alll his team mates apart from Durant and LeBron have only good things to say about him including how he helped them improve (Beal, George, Oladipo). Durant had an an agenda and so did LeBron, he was recruited to the lakers under a promise of being the pg but Lebron is a ball hog and depreciates star talent around him to spot up shooters so stop the cap. He's not even controversial im glad the players are podcasting soon people like you who reinforce inaccurate narratives wont be who the casuals listen to. You lot just cant understand what greatness actually means

He has no skills. No fundamentals, bad ball handling, makes bad decisions and has one of the worst midrange games. He is 3rd all time leader in turnovers, 30% from the 3, and has one of the worst mid range game in history. He has to consistently take over 20 shots and make 8 of them to get double figure scoring. He is basically a really good athlete that doesn't know how to play the game. Being on the lakers put him in the spotlight. When he went on the Lakers, I was not surprised at his performance while everyone else was. I remember I like Durant and would watch OKC. Westbrick was no different on any other team than he was on the lakers. And he is still going to be awful on the clippers. He was coddled by fans and the league to, thus never sought the need to improve on any part of his game. People who like westbrook, don't understand how the sport is played. Westbrook sacrifices defense to get the rebounds from the bigs. He tries to pad his stats by passing up good shots to make a bad assist that get stolen a lot. He is god awful on transition. He does not play winning basketball. Any team he is on, he will make worse. Look at Denver.....you really think they would take someone like westbrick? He would ruin their offense and cohesiveness just to get his numbers.

Russ has always been like this. The reason Westbrook had to take a huge individual hit is because he realized he had to play as a team and not pad his stats. I remember watching OKC because Durant was one of my favorite players. Russ was just a really good athlete that didn't know how to play the game. Being on the lakers exposed him for what he is. He has no fundamentals, bad mid range game, 30% from 3 overall, and is 3rd leader in turnovers of all time. The problem is people kept finding excuses for why he sucked. They failed to look past his flashy athleticism and criticize him. Thus, he never felt the need to improve his game; he was coddled by the league and those who pitied him. Its like telling a mentally challenged person "its okay, you did great." Even though they didn't. He has played on good teams but could never win with them because he does not play winning basketball. All those Westbrook triple doubles led to nothing and it made the teams worse.

@@SweatbandSports It is too late. The problem is everyone coddled him and he never felt the need to improve. He needs to focus less on the stats and more on playing team ball. He's always sucked. I kept telling everyone since Russ was a rookie that "this guy will never win a ring with any team." Why? He doesn't play winning basketball. People just gave excuses for Russ rather than admit that he sucked. They can't look past the flashy exterior and realize he had no fundamentals or skills. As long as the league and fans treat him like a mentally challenged individual, complimenting every bad part of his game, he will never improve. Russ does bad, you guys say "awwww....its okay.....you did a good job." So he continues to shoot 8/26, 30% from 3, lead the league in turnovers 4 times (atrocious for a point guard), 3rd leader in turnovers all time, and goes down as one of the worst mid range game and fast break player ever. But hey..........he can jump high and run fast which makes him GREAT.

You know what happened to Russ??? He teamed up with the the superstar killer LeFlop. Yes, I know that y'all know LeFlop does not make his teammates better, he's the real stat padder. KD had his MVP playing with Russ. PG and Beal had their best years playing with Russ. When he played in LA, all the negative spotlight was thrown at Russ' way, taking it away from Bronny so that he'll look better even though it was evident LeFlop was also not doing great during those times. AD was carrying the team during LeBums stat padding his way to the scoring record. And yet all blame was still pointed out to Russ because LeGM's media machine was pushing for it. Yeah LeFakeKing has paid media to push hi "GoAtZ'' narrative. LeDiva got an "injury" that magically went away when he found out that they have a chance to make the playoffs??? LMAO! And even a lot of his haters still deny it, all evidence point to it. When Russ got traded he started playing better right away! I've got more respect for Russ than any Fake King.
