Learn how to read and edit any code, no matter the language :) Than you should be good. They will not ask you to rewrite an exploit, just take your time to read them before you try them! :)

HTB have their own Certifications, CPTS, CBBH, The cloud security certs - Blizzard, Hailstorm and Cyclone, and just recently they have linked up with CREST.

just do 100 labs like oscp from htb and you are all set to crack oscp just write note of all 100 boxes and you will have a deep knowledge of ctf plus all other things that comes in oscp
